There was clinking of keys when I saw Loke again. It had been almost a week, and Loke was an exception to visit for he was my family.
"What's this for." I moaned.
"Are you dumb?" He snorted. "It's the house keys." He threw the keys into my lap. "Assuming you're coming home soon. Well... unless you don't want to."
I glared at him. That was the stupidest thing to say. I've been wanting to leave the hospital the moment I arrived in this dreaded building.
"Are YOU dumb." I said, holding the keys in my hand. I examined the key. It was new; maybe mom had gotten a new door knob.
"Did mom change the door knob?"
Loke simply glanced at me, taking a second to text before replying. "Yeah. The old one was getting squeaky and old, so she ordered a new one a while ago." He snickered. "Made it easier for me to sneak out the house. I didn't have to go out my window anymore."
I tossed a pillow to his head. "Dumb." I teased.
"Who's the dumb one here?!" He laughed back. He thew the pillow to my head, landing a blow to the jaw.
"Ouch!" I yelled. I decided to stop, knowing he had more strength and power than I could ever conquer. "What did you do yesterday?" I already knew what he'd done, but wanted to see what he was going to say.
"Relaxed at home." He replied, not taking his eyes off the mobile device. I sighed. When will he stop lying?
"Oh really now? I called mom yesterday; she said she hasn't seen you in a couple of days. What were you really doing."
Loke stopped typing and looked up. "What the hell." He put down his phone. "You really wanna know?" Loke came closer and stared into my eyes.
"Why not." I replied.
He leaned back and plopped onto a near by chair. "Nah, just went out to a friend's house."
Lying again. I decided to let it go. I trusted Aidan, and made an executive decision to do so.
"What are your plans today?" I asked.
"Not much."
I wanted to badly to throw his phone into the window. Why did he come to visit if he isn't going to talk?
"Aidan should be here soon." Loke said, stretching his back. "Unless that bastard decides to ditch."
Oh, so Aidan really did convince my brother to come if he came.
"Surely not." I said. "And he's not a bastard. He's one of your best friends so treat him better."
Loke rolled his eyes. "Friends? What are friends."
Shocked, I sat upright. "You're being a brat."
Loke stood up, squared up. "Who're you calling a brat."
"Hey Alicia-" Loke and I both turned towards the door. Aidan had just arrived and halted in the middle. "What's going on?"
Loke sat back down and grunted. "You bastard." He said under his breath. I rolled my eyes and laid back down.
"Hi Aidan." I said.
"Hey." He looked at Loke. "Bro what's up man?"
"Nothing. What took you so long you bastard?" Loke said.
"Traffic man! I go to University, you should know how it is."
Loke just glared at Aidan and pulled a chair up for him. "Sit."
Aidan sat down with no hesitation and pat Loke on the shoulder. "Sorry man. Won't leave ya hanging again."
"Actually-" I began.
"She's being discharged in a couple days, so I don't think we need to visit the hospital anymore." Loke said. "Thank goodness for that."
Aidan looked a bit crestfallen but smiled. "That's wonderful news! Make sure to stop by at my house once in a while to have a drink or something."
I looked at Aidan with an unsure gaze. "I don't drink..."
"Sure she'll come over." Loke interjected. "Ain't that right Alicia?"
I shot daggers at Loke. "I guess if I must." I gritted my teeth. I never liked drinking. My dad had died due to overwhelming amounts of alcohol. I couldn't believe that Loke was drinking underage, especially after knowing what had happened with dad.
"Alicia, is this a bad time?" Asked Hannah, who was standing at the entrance to the room. Loke winked at Hannah, in which she teasingly bit her lip.
"No, not at all." I replied. Hannah came in and pulled herself a chair next to Loke.
"Naw girl, there's already a seat for ya." Loke said, dishing the chair away. He pat his lap and winked again.
"LOKE!" I yelled.
Hannah, being surprised, slowly knelt to pick up a piece of jewelry that had fallen from her pocket.
"It's alright sis." Loke said. "Hannah wants to, don't she?" He expectantly stared at Hannah.
"I... I suppose it couldn't hurt." She said, standing up.
"Aight, then come here." Loke pat his lap again, and it took a moment before Hannah finally sat down. "It ain't bad hey?"
"Umm... sorry to interrupt but I feel kinda weirded out here." Aidan said suddenly.
"I agree." I sat up and pulled Hannah towards me. "What are you doing?!" I hissed in her ear.
"I'm sorry," Hannah said shakily. "Your brother is just so dreamy I couldn't do much."
I pulled her in and hugged her. "Trust me, you don't want him. Not when he's like this." I pulled away so that Loke and Aidan didn't find it weird. Hannah looked down, but nodded.
"So Loke, what're your plans for today?" Asked Aidan. Loke glared at him.
"Dude I told ya."
"Was his answer 'nothing?'" I inquired.
"'Fraid not." Replied Aidan.
"Shut your pie hole." Loke said, nicking Aidan in the face with his face, playfully.
"May I interject?" Said Hannah.
"Ya already did sweet stuff." Loke replied.
"I mean-" she began. "Umm I have to tell Alicia something."
Loke leaned in. "What's wrong with saying it out loud honey?"
Hannah darted at me, asking for help. "None of your business Loke." I finally said.
"It's about James." Hannah said.
I shot her a scared look.
"Uh who?" Loke said, standing up. Hannah immediately felt threatened and backed away a few feet.
"James said that he'll visit you tomorrow." Hannah continued. I wanted to scream. My brother would murder any guy that didn't have his approval on.
"Oh yeah," Loke said, biting his tongue. "What time is this bastard comin at?"
Before Hannah could say more, I grabbed her and covered her mouth. "What the hell are you doing?" I hissed. Hannah shook her head and mouthed the word 'sorry' in my hand. I let go, for her to breathe.
"Oh never mind. I got the wrong person." She said hastily.
I furrowed my brow and glared at Loke.
Though he may have changed, he wasn't stupid.
"That's the worst way to hide it." Loke sneered.
"What's it to you?" I interjected, helping Hannah.
"What the hell," Loke yelled. "Who's the damn guy?!"
"It doesn't matter Loke."
Aidan raised his hand. "If I may," he stood up, "can I excuse myself for a second?" Loke motioned his hand for him to leave. Without another word, Aidan left he premises.
"It's fine!" Hannah said, shushing us. She pointed at the doctor coming towards my room.
"Loke, shut your trap! The doctor's coming." I threatened. He jumped back on the chair, legs crossed and arms as well.
"Seems to be a fine day." Said the doctor, as she walked in. "Hello. My name's Dr. Anthony. I'll be your doctor today." She turned to see Loke. "Who might you be?"
Loke, in his best manner replied, "I'm Alicia's sister. I came to provide her with the necessary keys and essentials to the house." It was truly odd to hear those words from his mouth.
