CHAPTER 1: Genesis

||THIRD PERSON||

Autumn has finally caught at its peak this year in the eyes of many people. The autumn winds blew through the tall trees, as a result many of the colorful leaves fell upon a paved road. This paved road led to a mansion owned my an elderly lady and her adopted daughter, along with a maid who takes care of the old lady. Not too far from the household was a beautiful gazebo surrounded by a pond which was connected by a matching bridge. This area was also claimed by the small family. And inside the gazebo was the sleeping young girl with her hand place in the middle of the book.

|| MAVIS' POV ||

The sky was violet with the twinkling stars beginning to welcome themselves into the sky and some fluffy clouds. Beneath my bare feet was the soft partially wet dirt and grass ever expanding to its horizon. The night wind whistled through the grass and swiftly caressed my black hair. As I walked towards an unidentified direction, in my white dress, I sighted a white pedestal. On top of it was my black ring I always kept on the left thumb. When I touched the ring the grass floor vanished and it was replaced by a surface mirroring the violet sky. Suddenly, the ring was siphoning my surroundings and the space was getting smaller and smaller. Scared, I close my eyes tightly and clutched down.

|| THIRD PERSON ||

Mavis slowly opened her eyes, awakening from her dream. She then raised her hand above her and stared at her ring. She had it ever since she was a baby but that isn't too clear on who gave it to her.

Mavis gently got up while holding her book in her right hand. She picked up her red coat with black buttons and planted the hoodie on her curly black hair. Since the mansion wasn't too far from the gazebo, Mavis strolled on the paved road and soft crunching noises of the leaves can be heard.

Three minutes of gentle walking, Mavis dark rosy pink eyes saw her home. She opened the mahogany wood door and hung her red coat on the hook and removed her red Converse shoes off her feet, revealing her black socks. It was early in the morning and at this time Mavis would serve tea to the master of the house. So she did and heated up the kettle of water until it screamed violently. Placing the teabag into the cinnamon colored mug. Ready, Mavis carried the hot mug through the stairs and turns upon reaching the room. Mavis knocked on the door and a soft voice spoke out.

"Come in, whoever's there." Even though Mavis didn't saw her say these words, she knew the person behind the door smiled.

"It's me Mavis." She said closing the door without force.

"And why would a youngster like you, visit little ol' Charlotte?" The woman on the bed teased while embroidering her next art work.

"I thought you would like tea this time Aunt Charlotte." Although Mavis wasn't her biological niece, Mavis liked to call her that.

"Thanks dear. Place it on my right night stand. Oh that rhymed." Mavis carefully placed the tea on top of a small ceramic plate so that the heat wouldn't damage the wood.

"Um.. Aunt Charlotte."

"Yes Mavis."

"Can you teach me how to embroider. If it's not a trouble to you." Charlotte chuckled.

"Oh Mavis. You're always welcome in this house. So please, grab a stool and come to my left." Mavis sat next to Aunt Charlotte and listened for further instructions. The woman already started the platform and told Mavis to pick up needle and thin thread. Next, tie the thread to the needled so it wouldn't loosen.
