The car ride was silent except for the faint music that played from the radio. Ever so often you would look at him and ask yourself why he did what he did.
Did he even ever do it? It doesn't feel real anymore and the way he's acting makes me question if I just imagined it all...
As you approached your dorm, Yoongi parked the car and turned the engine off. The streets were abandoned as everyone was away in their rooms. The street lights shone down on the baron sidewalks and you could smell the dewy grass from the open car window.
The two of you sat there in silence, listening to the chirping crickets. Yoongi rested his arms on the steering wheel and stared down at his lap. You were fixated on the bright lights from a few of the dorm windows that decorated the building.
Sighing, you were the first one to speak.
"I won't tell anyone ok. You just needed to get that out of your system right?" You asked him.
"Uh, y-yea." After that, he watched you get out of the car silently. You turned and closed the car door, as you left for the dorms. Listening to the car engine start up again as he drove off, you took a deep breathe in before walking again.
You crept into your shared room silently, tip toeing towards your bed. You paused for a second and looked at Ashe. Her peaceful slumber made you calm down a little and her slow breathing corrected your own.
Should I... tell her? Are we on that level yet...?...I don't know...
Kicking off your shoes, socks, and jacket, you tucked yourself under your covers, not bothering to put on pajamas. You slowly closed your eyes, not expecting to be awake for very long, not expecting to suffer through a long sleepless night. But you did anyway.
Tossing and turning all night you were finally able to rest at 3am.
...
As morning broke, the sunlight flowed through the room and hit your eyes with a sting. The dust floated through the sun beams in front of the small window that was above your bed. Sitting upright, you rubbed your eyes and yawned for a few seconds.
You hadn't gotten nearly enough sleep to help you cope with last night's events. It was the only thing on your mind when you went to sleep and as you woke up. Like a bad taste in your mouth that you couldn't get rid of.
Looking towards your left, you saw Ashe's empty bed with a flash of bright pink on top of her pillow.
Getting out of bed you made your way towards the vibrant color. It was a small sticky note with pretty cursive writing on it:
You're gonna be really late ;)
You read from it. Turning your head towards your wall clock, you saw the time.
"7:47?! Holy crap I'm gonna be really late!" You yelled at yourself as you clumsily packed your bag. Stuffing your notebooks in the bag and putting on your no lace shoes, you ran out of the dorms and to the entrance of the school building.
As you rushed through the long, empty hallways, you ran your fingers through your bedhead, hoping to make your appearance better. Trying to untangle all of the large knots and smoothing out the rough spots, you tried not to get off task aswell.
You searched for room 207 as you checked your watch every few seconds, counting each minute that passed.
"I'm only 10 minutes late... noone will even notice." You whispered to yourself.
Finally finding the right classroom, you walked through the door way to find the whole class silently waiting for you.
"Ms. L/n, welcome." The teacher said. "We waited to greet you...please come in." Taking a second to look at the whole class, you slowly made your way to the front of the room. You could hear a few students whispering and you could tell all of them were staring.
Stopping near the teacher's desk, you turned to face the class. About 40 kids watched your every move in terrible silence.
First day and I've already ruined myself...nice
"Please introduce yourself." The teacher smiled awkwardly, hoping to make things more comfortable. It. Did. Not.
"Hello, I'm Y/n L/n." You said smiling before bowing to them. Looking down at your legs while bowing, your face reddened as you realised something.
Before having time to even think about it, the teacher spoke your mind.
"Um, did you not get the uniform? If you didn't then you should come in a skirt and blouse...not...jeans and a T-shirt..." You looked down at your full appearance now. You remembered that you hadn't changed from last night or put on proper clothes that morning.
You heard a few snickers from your classmates as you turned towards the teacher.
"Yes, sorry I didn't get the uniform...and um...I havn't gotten a lot of my luggage yet since I just moved here, so I had nothing else to wear..." You hoped it sounded believable, crossing your fingers behind your back and giving him a reassuring smile.
Taking a second to evaluate your statement, the teacher finally nodded and gestured for you to take a seat.
The only seat available was the middle seat all the way in the front.
You walked to the seat and slowly sat down as everyone around you followed with their gazes like predators looking at prey.
Sitting completely in the desk now, you slouched your shoulders and stared at the light wooden top of the desk, hoping to become invisible soon. That would have to wait, for the teacher made you the center of attention once again.
"I almost forgot, we will assign you a buddy for the first few weeks. You'll be able to get to know the school with their help." The teacher cleared his throat and spoke to the whole class now.
"Do we have any volunteers to show Y/n around?"
Silence. Complete and utter silence. Not a cough or a sniffle or a chair's squeak was heard. No one was going to volunteer to show this train wreck around. Until...
"Ah looks like someone's offering to be your buddy!" The teacher said happily as he gestured for you to turn towards them.
Following the teacher's gesture, you turned all the way around and looked towards the back row.
A boy was somewhat raising his hand. It was half way up and he covered his face with his other hand, almost in shame.
Other students silently judged and all eyes were on you and that boy. You tried to see his face, but couldn't.
"Please, show some respect to the new student and remove your hand." The teacher said sternly. Slowly, the mysterious boy brought his hand down.
You could see his eyes now. They were staring at the desk and didn't dare to look at you or anyone else. Then came his nose, quite small and hamster-like is what you thought. Finally, his lips. They were a pretty pink, his top lip thinner than his bottom. They were parted just a bit, allowing you to see a bit of his tongue and top two teeth. And then it came to you.
"Jungkook will be your buddy for about a month."
You almost died right there from either laughter or bliss. You had gotten another chance with this handsome young man.
Thank you Lord, hallelujah, amen.
You smiled brightly at him. He gave a polite smile back and looked away once again.
Wonder why he volunteered. Must be into me.
