GUGUDAN : the beginning

Chapter One

Gyeryong, South Korea
Republic Of South Korea Navy

N sat on the edge of the main boat dock that sits in between the two main ROK navy ships. In one hand he held the picture of him and his ex-girlfriend and in the other, a gallon of milk. Low fat, If you want to know the exact kind.

"Dabin.. " He sobbed, staring into the picture.
He started to chug some of his milk before hissing loudly. Leaving a white ring around his lips.

Two of his pals, twenty-four and twenty-three-year old Navy boys Ken and Ravi watched from afar.

"Dang, he's got it bad. He's lactose intolerant too." Ken thought out loud, watching his miserable friend groan as his stomach started to rumble loud enough for the whole beach to hear.

Out of nowhere, Ravi quickly jabbed Ken in his stomach.

".. Ow." Ken cried, holding onto his stomach.
"What was that for?"

"We're not going to pity our friend for being a little wussy."

Ken pouted, trying to regain his strength. "Okay.. But you hurt me because-"

"Look that's not important."

Ravi turned to see N sobbing even more.
"We need to take him out."

Ken squinted at him."Are you even being serious right now? I don't think he's in the state to-"

Ravi cut him off. "Shut up, Ken. You're really not helping."

Annoyed, Ken grumbled to himself as he was about to walk off. Unfortunately, Ravi dragged him into "Operation Make Things Worst."

N was drowning himself in milk again before Ravi slapped on his back, causing him to choke a little.

"Um, ow-" He accidentally let go of his photo and milk, pushing Ravi away.

"What the heck man-"

At the last second, he noticed what just happened and tried his best to reach for his photo. But it was too late.

"NO!!"

Ken shooked his head. "Look what you did, Ravi."

"Oops." He chuckled, before pulling N up. "Whatever. You need to forget about her anyways. There's plenty of fish in the sea. And milk in the grocery store."

"But-"

Ravi dragged N by the collar of his uniform.
"Now quit moping around so we can get you back into the game, my friend."

Later on that night, the royals came home on the back of the royal blue whale from a special meeting with other ruling families of the Seven Seas.

As the royals were making their way home back to the palace, the Princess noticed the thin plattered falling from the sky.

Before anyone noticed, she quickly took it and hid it in the pocket of her blouse. She quickly followed the rest of her family back to the palace.

"Pardon me, pardon me." Haebin, a twenty-year-old maiden Mermaid said as she excused herself through a school of fish. Her mission being to get through them so she can make it to the seamarket. By her side was a rookie, maiden, sixteen-year-old Mermaid named Hyeyeon.

"Do you have the list?"

Hyeyeon only gave her a dumb look that started to tick her off. Haebin was slowly losing patience.
