Saturday morning I meet ms finch by the theatre in town with Axel. She looks different outside of school. Younger.

"Hello ms." I say with a smile.

"Call me Ruth outside of school dear. Shall we?" She asks as she opens the door. I smile and we walk in I see the lights turn on and stage hands run off stage.

"Sit dear." Ruth says as we get to the front row. I sit and she goes on stage.

"Right, this is a dress rehearsal but treat it as a real performance. Just keep moving, break a leg!" She shouts and sits with me. "Action." She shouts and the lights dim.

The play is Romeo and Juliet. They have changed it to a modern musical. It is not the best but I see potential. The main character is Juliet and she is a new girl. She meets Romeo in class but he is taken. They fall in love and do the traditional Romeo and Juliet thing but for a surprise ending Romeo kills Juliet to protect his family from his ex's brother, a gang leader.

Almost two hours later the play finishes and Ruth turns to me.

"What did you think?" She asks.

"Well, it's not terrible but nothing practice and a little editing can't fix, but Juliet, her songs, she doesn't seem to sell emotions in her music or hit the higher notes. Her acting is good though." I say.

"We can't drop her, she is the theatre owners daughter but the play is next weekend. What do we do?" She asks.

"Ok well, give me a copy of the script and I'll show you on Monday my changes, if they're any good we practice them. And could we maybe meet Juliet, see what she thinks?" I ask.

"Ok, no problem, thanks so much, we will talk on Monday." She says and with a copy of the script I leave.

I walk back to the car and as I look up from my phone the boys are there, including Daniel.

"Hey." I say with a smile. I hug Daniel and then the rest of the boys. "What are you doing here?" I ask as I watch Axel sniff the boys suspiciously.

"Someone missed you." Ethan says and Daniel rolls his eyes.

"Whatever, we were going to our usual hangout and we all wanted to invite you." Daniel says. I nod and follow the boys in the car to a small field behind the bar, I never noticed it before.

We sit in a circle and as they smoke I flick through the script, making small changes.

"What's that?" Ethan asks.

"A script, I'm helping making it better." I say as I write word changes and pauses.

"What play?" Harry asks.

"It's a modern take on Romeo and Juliet." I say and bite my lip.

"How crap is it?" Ash asks.

"It's workable, the worst is Juliet, more specifically her singing, her acting is ok." I say and I look over her music seeing if I can change it to see if it won't be crap.

"It doesn't sound that bad when you hum it." Daniel says and I blush. They laugh at me so I just keep my head down.

"Hang on." Ryan says and after stomping out his cigarette he walks away and comes back with a guitar from the bar.

"Sing it, we'll help you if it's crap." He says. I shrug and I open to the music page. I cough and start playing.

I stumble a little on the guitar because I haven't played this song before but it's soon over.

"Well it's definitely not the song that's crap." Ryan says.

"Definitely." Daniel says. I smile and the others agree.

"Just get rid of Juliet." Ash says.

"Can't, her dad is the owner of the theatre." I say. They all sigh and I shrug.

"Why don't you sing." Daniel says.

"What do you mean?" I ask, intrigued.

"You sing it backstage, she lip sings, problem solved." He says.

"You're a genius." I say as I write it down.

"So, do we get free tickets? Since we are the directors muse?" Ethan asks.

"Assistant director if anything. And I'll see what I can do if you really want to go." I say as I put the script away.

I hear a ping and instantly the vibe turns sour.

I look at Daniel and he looks at me.

"I've got to go now." He says and I feel tears form.

Ethan's POV

Daniel takes Amy to around the corner. I can still just about see them. Amy is leaning on the wall an has tears rolling down her face as Daniel lifts her head by her chin, talking to her and trying to calm her down.

They look so in love and so miserable. It's all my fault, I have to stop this.

Amy's POV

"I promised you last night, I'm not going anywhere, I'll be back before night comes with all body parts intact. I couldn't leave you." He says.

"Then why do I feel like I'm losing you?" I ask, he wraps his arms around me and kisses my forehead.

"I love you." He says.

"I love you more." I say.

"Not possible." He says. And with one last kiss, he's gone.
