With a yawn I stretch and sigh. I check the time. It's seven, four hours sleep, new record.

I make mum some breakfast and give her her medication. I quickly get ready and put my phone and keys into my pockets.

"Have a good day sweetie." I hear my mum say, she must be having a good day, some days she can't talk.

"Thanks mum, see you later." I say and I fast walk to school.

I yawn on my way to class. As I sit in maths I feel a slight burning on the back of my head. I turn around but I don't see anyone looking at me, the only people sitting behind me are Daniel and his friends.

I do my last problem just as the bell goes. I pack my bag and I go to the school library. I have a free lesson so I read a book on one of the new beanbag chairs. I bite my lip as my eyes scan across the page and soon enough the book is over, I tend to finish books quickly. I've read this whole library at least once.

I return my book and the librarian smiles at me.

"Already finished? How am I not surprised." She says with a smile.

"Yeah, are we getting any new books soon?" I ask. She sighs.

"No pet. Actually the school is planning on turning this place place into a new computer room. The library will be computerised but students will need to pay since the computers will cost so much." She says with sympathy in her voice.

"But they can't do that, I can't afford it." I say. Tears push their way out.

"Don't worry pet, tell you what. I'll use my library card for the library in town and you see me at lunch and I'll let you borrow a book or two. I know how much this place means to you." She says and I nod. "Anyway that won't happen for another week or two." She says and I nod. I wipe my tears away and I go to my next class. English.

We have the lesson to do the partner work but Daniel sits with his friends so I just do the example of the writing style. Mr Coventry calls me to his desk.

"Yes sir?" I ask.

"Are you doing all the work? Because if so Daniel will have to be punished." He says.

"No sir, he just doesn't want to be seen with me." I say then I realise what I said, he doesn't want to be seen with me. That hits me, hard.

"Well, don't let him make you do all the work. You're a smart girl Amy, use that brain of yours." He says and I sit back at my desk.

When the lesson is over its lunch. I go to my locker and I swap my books over. I smell the leather and cologne so I turn around and Daniel is looking at me. His face is unreadable.

"Can I help you?" I ask as I close my locker and lock it.

"The assignment is meant to be in in two days, I want to finish it asap. Want to come over for lunch? Try to finish it now?" He asks. I shrug and we walk down the hall, I follow him but stay a couple feet away.

As we get to the school doors he turns to me.

"Leave the car park and go around the corner, I'll pick you up there." He says. He really doesn't want to be seen with me.

I walk away and I go around the corner.  Soon enough Daniel turns the corner and I put on the helmet.

The thought of putting my arms around him leaves a bitter taste in my mouth but at the speed he is going it's a requirement.

When we are outside of his house it still amazes me, it's huge. Daniel leads me to the kitchen where he drinks milk from the bottle as I stand awkwardly in the corner.
