magnolia walked into the reception with chace by her side. they went to the panel in front of the dance floor where the groom and bride sat with their bridesmaids and groomsmen. magnolia set her stuff down at her seat before walking away. she started to weave through the people, trying to find her date. she walked the entire space and couldn't find him at all. she didn't want to panic, everything was gonna be okay.
"margo, there you are! have you seen chris?" magnolia asks, running up to her eldest sister.
"no, honey, i haven't. i'm sorry. do you want me to help you find him?" margo asked.
"no, that's okay. i'm sure he's just running late."
margo nodded before walking away to find her table. magnolia inhaled and exhaled, it was all going to be okay, magnolia thought to herself.
a pair of arms snaked around her waist, pulling her into their chest.
"mmm, you look amazing in that dress." the voice was so familiar that magnolia didn't have to even process who it was.
she twisted around and wrapped her arms around chris' neck. "where have you been?" magnolia questioned.
"i had to run to the bathroom. sorry i didn't get to see you before you went to marguerite's room, i had to meet up with anthony before i hit the road."
"oh, it's fine. i'm just glad you're here now." magnolia put her head on his chest and held on even tighter, she never wanted to let go.
but eventually she had to. "save me a dance, okay?"

marguerite and weston had just finished their first dance and everyone started to gather onto the dance floor. chris walked up to the table, he looked magnolia in the eye and held out his hand. "would you like to dance?"
"i'd love to."
just as magnolia and chris made their way onto the dance floor, the deejay began to play l-o-v-e by nat king cole started to play. it was the perfect song for magnolia and chris to dance to, considering they were both in love with each other but they were both so blind about the other.
chris placed his hand on magnolia's lower back and held onto her hand. they started to sway on the dance floor. magnolia felt like she could do this a million times over again, it felt so normal, almost like she was at home.

marguerite pulled her sister in for one last hug before she and weston set out on their own adventure. the wedding was coming to an end and magnolia couldn't be more in love with chris. it had been one of the best weddings she'd ever been to. she didn't feel alone, she had someone to hold, she felt like she finally found her permanent wedding date.
marguerite and weston held hands as they walked out of the reception and down an aisle of people who threw rose petals into the air. the petals fell onto the ground around magnolia's feet and in her blonde hair. she laughed and looked up at the falling rose petals as she held onto chris. chris' eyes never left magnolia's face. the beauty became vibrant on her, she wore it beautifully. chris never wanted to let go of magnolia, she was everything he wanted in his life, everything he need.
as magnolia looked back into chris' eyes, she noticed that things were perfect. she never wanted things to change but somehow they were going to.
"marry me." the words fell off chris' tongue and stunned magnolia.
