I walk up the creaking, wooden stairs carrying two boxes stacked on each other, with my mother's nagging voice in the background.
"And watch out for the cables! They're still loose. The electrision is coming later this afternoon-"
"Got it, mom!"
"Oh! And don't go into the garden, I saw rats!"
"Got it, mom!"
I place the cardboard boxes on my bed and wipe the sweat from my forehead, letting out a long-anticipated sigh.
I look around my room. It looks like something from the middle ages. The room is dusty, wooden floors, wallpaper peeling from the walls.
-But, hey. It can't be that bad. I'll just make the best of this.
I look out of the window, staring at the 'rat-infested' garden.
It's the only real classy area in this house. It's truly magnificent, magical, even.
"And remember to clean out the attic!"
"Got it, mom!"
I think I like it here. We may have moved very far from home, but it could've been worse, right? I'll make the best of this.
I'm sure I can.
