My best friend is a Jerk

Chapter 2

“Piss off Matt”

“Why?”

“Because I hate you”

“No you don't”

I sighed in defeat that he was right about. I could never hate him. No matter how much I tried

“Whatever, I'm still not talking to you”

“Why?” he had a genuine curious face on, like he honestly didn't know why I was angry

I grunted and sat down at my dresser and let my honey brown hair cascade down my back, brushing it thoroughly.

“How about you think about it for a while, try thinking about what you did last week”

I watched him through my mirror, he let his head rest back on the wall as he went into his deep thinking mode “Nope nothing”

“Nothing?” I asked, my voice going slightly high pitched at his stupidity. I slammed the brush down on the dresser.

“Can you just tell me?”

I swivelled around in my stool,  “Last week I left you on my passage floor whilst I went on a date with Blake.”

He gritted his teeth “Don't remind me”

I rolled my eyes and continued “We went out for lunch and we having a great time, after I had finished my main course I excused myself so I could use the rest room when I came back Blake was gone and YOU were sitting in his seat with no explanation for where Blake had magically disappeared to. Monday morning Blake is stumbling into school in the clothes he wore Saturday night and donning a black eye” I swivelled back to face the mirror

“Oh that!?” he chuckled darkly “You had a great time with me though”

“Matt I really like this guy and I want him to like me too”

“Why would you need a boyfriend when you have me?”

“Because I want someone to take me out, I want someone to hold me and love me and kiss me and tell me I'm beautiful” I sighed in despair not knowing how to explain myself “I just want to do what normal boyfriends and girlfriends do”

“I do that anyway” he retorted

“But it's different”
