Chapter Two

Jeff's pov: The Trip

Class passed quickly and we walked home and went to my room!

My room is clean with pictures of historical places my sister's room is adjacent to mine so we walked through my room into hers she immediately turned the radio on blasting rap music I plopped onto the bed and opened my history book she plopped next to me and opened her book!

"Nara what time will mom and dad be back home?"I asked

"Maybe we should call them?"she suggested picking up the phone and putting it on speaker!

They picked up on the second ring!

"Hello?"our mom answered

"Hi Mom it's us checking in!"I said

"Mom it's so creepy here alone in the house why couldn't you just take us with you! And when you coming home?"Nara said

"Oh sorry baby we'll be going home in about a week we found a rather interesting artifact! Actually we're investigating a temple of king Tut himself!"Mom said

"And you kids had school and that is important I tell you what summer break is coming up soon and school let's out for a month we'll take a trip and go explore a jungle! Sound Fair?"our Dad said

We laughed!

"That sounds good with us Dad!"we say together

"Ok baby we'll have to get going now we'll always love you no matter what we'll see you soon baby!"Mom said suddenly!

"Wait Mom don't you want to know what today's history exam was about today?"I asked suspecting something was wrong

I looked at Nara she had the same look on her face too!

Suddenly we heard an explosion and Mom screaming!

Just then the line went dead we redialled just a beep then a voice saying this person is no longer available!

Suddenly we heard a noise we looked at the closet because that's where the noise came from.

We get up and grabbed each others hand! We crept up and opened the closet!

"No way!please tell me this isn't real Jeff!"she said staring at a blue rectangular portal in the wall!

I dragged her back to the bed and looked as the book stopped on the portal we read about!

"It's impossible that portal shouldn't have been there unless the person with the key opened it!"I shouted

"Maybe it will take us to mom and Dad maybe that explosion was the key!"Nara shouted

Suddenly before we could think we were tossed into the portal!

We held tight to each other and screamed!

Finally we landed in a garden rather hard!

She coughed and sat up!

"Oh Jeff I'm sorry did I hurt you?"she asked helping me up.

"I'm fine sis but the look of that chariot all wrecked we crashed or was almost blown up!"I asked picking up a piece of pottery!

"I don't understand Jeff!"she said looking at the piece.

"Look this pottery and look there is a piece of some type of grass dried and dipped into something! And if we look at the wrecked chariot we might find something else!"I said and I handed her the stuff found.

We took each others hand and walked over to the chariot and I picked up a herb and smelled it!

"This ground herb was used as black powder it's a herb from a kitchen hardly used because it explodes it's mainly used in witch craft!Come on we better find some help!"I said

We walked in through an arch and entered through a doorway!

We chose left and bounced right into two people walking our way! We all fell down!

We get up and Nara screams I look up and shout myself!

They spoke in Egyptian I spoke it back then switched to English!

"They were wondering amongst themselves as to why we look a like! I said it's possible because theoretically everyone has a twin or we are a descendants from these two!"I said

"What year is this?"Nara asked

"1712!" Arimnukna said her black hair laying down! Her green eyes gentle

We looked at each other surprised, then at them!

"Give us a second!"I said in Egypt

"This is our chance to change history! If we do she will become queen in two years! We have two years to help them figure out who wants them dead!"Nara whispered

"But if we try then history will be rewritten or we could mess something up what if something happens to Mom and Dad because we meddled in time with history!"I asked

"Do you really want to die twice because if we're meant to live or if we take their place we may never see mom and daddy again! I say we change our past and save our future! They may be our ancestors Jeff and she's only fourteen like I'm fourteen!"she said

"Wait what do you mean die?"Arimnukna asked in Egyptian

"I suggest we find a quiet spot and talk!"I said back

We were led to a room and we all sat down!

I explained quickly how the end of her leadership is coming and then explained how it told of the mother's death and how we think it was a murder and how that they will go visit their parents but get killed by two deadly beetles!

She whispered to her brother and he nodded and took off and came back five minutes later with clothing and a box!

He presented me with clothes and my sister too then asked if I'd follow him! I followed him into another room and then we went back in five minutes and my sister was dressed she took an earring out of her ear the other one did the same!

I look between the two and keep looking!

The taller one giggled "Jefferson mother always warned you not to stare she said it will ruin your eyes!"she said

"Arimnukna?"I asked

She giggled "NO Jefferson, I'm Nara!"she laughed

"Sire these earrings are special they transform the one who wears it into the other person they meet if the mate is put in the others ear but together they just look normal with no powers!"said Arimnukna who looked like Nara she put a cloth over her face!

"Arimnukna did this so we can catch the one after her she will be my servant and you my brother will be my guard and so will Arimnukna's brother Durakna!"Nara said
"Well I hope this works and doesn't get you killed because that might kill Arimnukna assuming we're connected in more ways than we think!"I say
