CHAPTER 2-FLASHBACK (Part1)

Xian and I are having some babe time. We've decided to have some karaoke in our place with my mom and dad. It's literally 98° outside. So, we decided to stay at home.

Xian has a nice voice. In fact, he did win several singing competitions before. Aaaaand not to brag, *clears throat* I am too. Actually, we did plan to organize a show for a cause. That's how good we are. *wink*

Both of our parents have charities so why not give it a try? Hahaha, it's for a good cause.

"I love you, babe."

He then kissed me. A brief kiss that could sweep me off my feet. Except that we're sitting so I just fake fainted. His laugh sounds so angelic I could just see the bright light. Kidding!

I didn't expect him to do that, especially that dad is just a few feet away from us with mom beside him.

I then replied, "I love you, too".

I examined Dad's reaction. It's damn uncomfortable when your parents are watching you flirt with your man. I felt my cheeks heating but thanks to my tan skin for hiding it a bit. It's not that obvious that I blush. HAH!

"Babe hahaha you're blushing!"

Forget about it. This man knows me well. I just rolled my eyes at him.

"Whatever!" I hid my face on his chest.

What? Who doesn't like to snuggle? I was actually lowkey snuggling him. Huehue

"Hahaha sorry, Drake. Can't help it." Referring to my dad who just cleared his throat.

They high fived.

Xian just smirked at me. Ugh, can I just strip off? Joooke.

"C'mon kids. I remember when Lex's mom was her age, she was that highkey flirting with me."

Mom slapped dad's chest playfully.

"Nah ah. You were so head over heels on me that you tend to skip your class just to see me." Mom winked at dad.

It's obvious that they are so in love with each other. Seeing them both makes me wish, will Xian, and I be like that in the future?

They laughed at remembering how silly they were when they were about our age before.

"Okay, children. Let me tell you this. Doesn't mean I'm allowing you to do whatever stuff you're doing, and that is sex, doesn't mean I already wanna have a grandchild like right now. I want to but not this early that you're 18 and you've got a lot of opportunities ahead of you. Alex, you understand me with that matter right?"

Dad was grinning while he was talking to us. Parents definitely know their children.

"Yes, honey. It's not that we don't want to have little Alexs and Xians. Our concern is that we want you both to have a stable job and all before you decide to have a baby. Hmmm? Got it? And pleeeease, use protection and or get checked, Alex and Xian."

"Mooooom, I know. You're making me uncomfortable. Dad! We're too young to have kids! Enough of the baby talk, please. Makes me cringe."

"Sure thing, moms and pops."

Xian's chill response. Damn mofo.
Aaaaand they all laughed at me. -_-

Xian's phone suddenly rung so he excused himself and went out to answer it.

I immediately felt nervous when he went outside to answer his call. I don't know? I didn't mind it.

So, I was left with my parents.

"Honey, whatever happens. Daddy and mommy will always be right here for you. We love you, baby."

My mom sat beside me and uttered those words and hugged me.

"Yes baby, Daddy is here to protect you."

I just smiled at them both and said, "I love you, Mom and Dad. I can't afford to lose you both." And hugged them tightly.

Alex was rushing back inside. It looked like something horrible happened. He looked uneasy, worried.

"Who called you?"

I asked him the moment he sat beside me.

"That was Dad. I need to go. My brother has got into an accident. He got hit by a fucking truck while he was crossing the street. They said the driver was drunk. I-I need to go. My parents need me. Fuck! I couldn't lose my brother. I'll see you soon".

It didn't felt right.

He looked at me, "Babe, I love you. Remember that. I'll be back. Don't worry."

He kissed me. That kiss felt like it would be the last time he could ever do that to me. Bidding goodbye.

I wouldn't let him go if it weren't for his brother. He's his only best friend.

It was around 9:36 PM when his mom called me telling Xian got into an accident also.

I almost fell off the stairs but fortunately, dad was right behind me to get a hold of me. I was so shocked that dad decided to answer Xian's mom's call.

Mom came rushing towards me to hug me. I felt numb. Dad immediately took his car keys and we went to the nearest hospital where they took Xian.

I had no idea what was happening.

Everything came to a blur.

Dad was asking the front desk where was Xian's room but the nurse in charge answered he's still in the ER. Doctors were stitching every cut he got from the accident and they said he hit his head terribly.

My knees felt weak and so did my heart. I was sobbing. My tears wouldn't stop.

He's still in the ER. Unconcious.

I headed towards the hospital's chapel and prayed for him.

"Lord, please don't let Xian die. I love him. Please don't let him leave me. Lord..."

"Hush now darling. He won't leave it. He promised he'll be back right? He'll be back. I know he will."

Mom was right there sitting beside me while I wept to Xian's current situation.

I fell asleep crying and praying for him to return.
