We left the restaurant and got into Davids car.
"What's your house like??" I questioned.
  "You'll see," he responded.
We sat in silence and when we got there, he opened the door and jumped out. He walked around and opened the door for me.
"Holy crap.. this house is huge," I said.
David laughed as I stared wide-eyed at the huge house. It had a large balcony on the front side of the house on the second floor and it had a pool with neon lights inside of it in the far right side of the house. There was also a garden and a long drive way with 2 cars in "This place is beautiful! And so big. I'm gonna get so lost," I said, astounded.
"You'll get used to it, don't worry."
  "Ok..let's go inside, then."
  "Ok, follow me."
He grabbed my hand and we walked through the big glass doors. I heard talking coming from somewhere inside. He led me into the kitchen and I saw two people talking. When they saw me they smiled and looked up.
"Who's this, david?" The woman said.
"Mom, this is Marie. Can she stay with us?" David asked.
"What's wrong with her house?" His mother questioned.
  David looked over at me.
  "It's okay. I'll tell them." I said.
"I ran away from home today. My mother died when I was 6 years old, and my father started drinking. He blamed her death on me and started abusing me. I ran away because I couldn't take it anymore," I said, as my eyes started tearing up.
"Oh, my god. Yes, of course you can stay here. I'm so sorry." His mother said. She walked over to the counter and pulled out a tissue from the tissue box. She handed it to me and I wiped my eyes.
"Thank you so much Mrs. Barret." I said, grateful that I wasn't on the streets.
"I'll show her around the house." David said.
David and I walked up the stairs and turned a corner. We walked down an endless hallway.
"Your parents are nice," I said.
"Yea. Here's your room," He said, leading me into a room with light blue walls. It had a king sized bed in the middle of the room, with light blue sheets. The curtains were blue, too. There was a huge TV hanging on the wall, and a bathroom through a doorway, in the back of the room.
"Wow, you guys really like blue," I  said.
"Yea. Do you like it?" He questioned.
  "I love it!" I said.
  "Good," he smiled.
"Thank you, David." I said.
"Why are you thanking me?"
"Because, if it wasn't for you, I would be living in the streets. You took me in and you barely even knew me."
"You can't just live on the streets! Of course I took you in. If I can ever help in anyway, then I will."
"Like I said, thank you."
"No problem," he smiled warmly.
