Niall's POV

As soon as I leave Lexi's house, I walk back to mine. I see my mom's car in the driveway. I haven't seen her since yesterday when she came home. Of course, we didn't get to spend much time together since I had to go to the hospital, but we can spend time now...right? No. I have to get ready! I have pick my clothes, get flowers for Lexi, make the food, get some plastic silverware, etc.

I go into my house through the garage door and greet my mom, "Mom!! I'm hoomme!!," I say waiting for her response. "Mom?!" I yell again. Running up the stairs, I check the rooms. My room- not there, guest room- not there, her room- not there. "Mom!!" I scream and hear a faint snore.

I decide to do the only thing I really can do and follow it. The noise stopped at the bathroom in her room. How did I miss that? And more importantly, why is she sleeping in the bathroom?

Slowly opening the door, I see my moms figure laying down in front of the toilet, head resting on the wall in front of it. As I walk in, I see that the toilet is full of an orangish-yellowish substance with some chunks in it...and I'm not talking about pee. I almost added on to the barf the more I looked at it. Covering my nose with my shirt, I flushed the toilet and knelt beside my mom, waking her up.

"Mom," I said one more time as she opened her eyes slightly. "Are you okay?"

"Yep, just a little food poisoning is all," her raspy voice said while getting up and walking out of the bathroom and into her room. I stood there, watching as she plopped onto her bed. "Just let me rest would ya?" was the last thing she said before drowsing off.

Now that that's solved, I start getting ready for our date. Walking into my room, I rush to my closet. I pick out a white v-neck with jeans, don't judge, and some black supras. As soon as I get done changing, I throw my dirty clothes in my overloaded laundry basket and ran downstairs to the kitchen to make some sandwiches. After I make 6 grilled cheeses and wrap them in tinfoil, I look around for a basket to put them in. I finally find an old wooden basket with a plaid red cloth in the inside and put them in. Next, I grab some water bottles and kool-aid powder to mix into the water just in case she doesn't want plain water, and put those in too.

Grabbing the now full basket, I quickly grab my car keys and sprint out of the house. Once I get into the car, a question hits me. Where are we going to have the picnic? "Crap," I mumble to myself. It's not like I can just go to a public place, we'd probably et mobbed by fans and/or paparazzis. And the only safe place I really can think of is my backyard. Hopefully she'll go along with it.

I turn left into Walgreens and put on some sunglasses and a hoodie from the back seat before running inside. Quickly, I run to the candy isle and grab some ferrero rocher in a clear plastic box shaped in a heart before running to the Valentines day isle (which doesn't really make sense that they have one because Christmas hasn't even passed yet). Anyway, I grab the biggest teddy bear. It's brown and is holding a red heart that says 'I love you' embroidered in cursive and it's the only one that doesn't say 'Happy Valentines Day' on it.

I carry the two items to the checkout, pay for them, and walk out. Guess what? it's snowing. Why did I even ask her to go on a picnic? It's December! She'll freeze to death because of me! I'm so stupid!

Shaking off my thoughts, I drive back home and start decorating the backyard with extra supplies in our garage so that it's at least presentable. Maybe the decorations will distract her from my stupidity?

Lexi's POV

I look outside my window as it starts snowing. As I'm watching the snowflakes hit my window before melting, I ask myself a question. Where are we going to have the picnic? I'd really hate it if we got mobbed by people during our date. And why are we having a picnic if it's snowing? Ehh...YOLO right? I laugh at myself fail at trying to be 'ratchet'.

I check my clock on my desk and it reads '11:30' . Shoot! I gotta get ready! I run over to my closet and grab a pair of leggings, a black and white skaters skirt with a floral pattern, a plain white top, a leather jacket, and a gray infinite scarf. After changing, I grab my makeup bag and jog over to my bathroom while glancing at my clock, '11:45', which means I have about 15 minutes to do my hair and makeup. Great.

I decide on a winged eyeliner, a little blush, and some red tinted lip gloss. For my hair, I put it up into a high ponytail. Even in a high ponytail, my brown hair reaches a little under the middle of my back. After admiring myself, the doorbell rings. I basically sprint down the stairs and put on my black combat boots before opening the door to reveal a handsome Niall.

"H-hey Lex," he stutters. While running his hand through his quiff.

"Hi," I reply while stepping outside.

"Umm.. I was wondering if it was okay if we could have the picnic in my backyard?" he nervously asks while looking down.

I start laughing at how nervous he is and he looks up with a now confused face as if saying 'what's so funny?'.

Answering him, I say, "Of course! Now stop being so nervous! It's not you."

He chuckles before sarcastically saying "This way m'lady," while gesturing his right arm in front of him towards his house.

I walk...that's a lie, I run over to his gate before he could catch up to me and open it. I hear his footsteps getting closer as I run into his backyard.

Then, my feet stop in their tracks as I'm taking in the beautiful sight. The tree has hanging white lights that are still off but are resting on the branches and just under the tree is a round table with a white cloth that has a pretty red rose in a thin white vase on it. The two chairs are wooden and have white ribbons tied onto the backrest.

"Like it?" Niall's voice startles me.

"I love it! It's perfect!"

"I wasn't planning on it to snow..." he trails off.

"That's okay! It makes the scene even better!" I say while hugging him.

"I'm glad you like it. But, I only made some grille cheese and have some kool-aid."

"That's perfect," I say while taking his hand and walking over to the table.
