"You ready to go Kaldr?" I look down to my right to see my dog Kaldr bark. "I'll take that as a yes." I laughed as I shut my car door and we made our way into the blinding snow.
Even with everything on I was still freezing cold and shaking. I check on Kaldr to make sure he's doing fine. He's busy burying his head into the snow and flicking it around to even care about how cold it is.
I continuously look around to make sure we're not being followed by something. But I can barely see a thing, the snow is so thick its hard to see ten feet in front of me. I reach into my side pouch to grab my flashlight. I flip it so its facing forward and flick it on. "It kinda helps, I guess." Kaldr looked at me confused but we kept walking.
We walked a good thirty to forty minutes. By this time, "It's getting dark." I said, so I decide to set up a tent where I am. I climb inside and Kaldr follows as I call him. "You hungry Kaldr?" I said with a smile, I open my book bag and pull out a can of dog food and pour it into a small plastic bowl. I decide to eat a quick and easy granola bar.
I pull out my note book and a pen. I like to write what happens when i go on these adventures. As I finish writing I set my book bag aside and lay my head back and fall asleep.
-*^*-
I wake up to the sound of Kaldr growling beside me. I've never heard him growl like this before, it's like a defensive growl like he's trying to warn someone or something to stay away.
I roll over and turn on my phone, I squint hard. The flashing light blinded me, Its only 10:23pm. "Kaldr I slept for 43 minutes. Its probably a deer go back to bed."
I soon started getting worried when his growling went to a bark, so I sat up and told Kaldr to be quiet. I listened around to see if I could hear anything. Nothing but the heavy storm brewing outside.
I grabbed my flashlight and unzipped the tent. Before I could get it fully undone Kaldr bolted out barking defensively turning his head side to side and spinning to see if he could see anything. I turn on my flashlight and look with him, Kaldr must have seen someone or something because before I knew it Kaldr took off running into the forest chasing something.
I bolted after him yelling for him to stop but he wouldn't listen it seemed like he had his sights locked on one thing and I couldn't break it.
I lost him. Within seconds he was gone into the winter night, I could still hear him barking but it soon became silent. I go back into my tent and grab my gear and head off hiking after him leaving the tent and book bag behind.
"KALDR!" I yelled, I'd hoped to get a bark in return but nothing. I wandered that forest for twenty five minutes before I decided to go back. "I'll freeze to death out here." I turn my head behind me to start following my tracks back only to see they were gone.
"SON OF A BITCH!" I shouted. I'm now lost in a forest that I don't know in the pitch black. "Kaldr when I find you you're in big trouble." I mumbled.
I still went back in hope to find my camp sight. I was freezing cold, I couldnt stop shaking, I couldnt wait to find my tent again, I get on my knees and huddle into the ground in hopes of getting kind of warm.
I knelled there for a good three minutes when all of a sudden I jolt up and look back. I heard the most terrifying scream in my life. I see a beam of light facing my direction. I quickly get up and duck behind the nearest tree in hopes that it didn't see me. I sat there not moving a muscle.
I could tell the light was moving in my direction. "Shit, Uh... Fuuuuck." I didn't know what to do. So I just sat there waiting. A couple seconds later I see this, this mechanical thing float past me about four trees over. "What. The. Fuck." I whispered I switched positions to the opposite side of the tree and peaked around it.
That thing was moving its head left and right like it was scanning for something. I nearly screamed whenever I heard it screech again. I saw the light turn red and it flew faster than anything I've ever seen. In seconds it moved twelve trees over to the right. And stopped. In its light I could see a deer. It just stood there petrified, and in half a second this thing picked the deer up and twisted it upside down. I nearly threw up. "Oh my god!" I said in a disgusted voice, this thing ripped this deer in half like it was a tooth pick. the head flew to the left and the legs were now four trees away from me.
I looked back to see the light head off in the direction of my tent. I just sat there, starring at the deer's lower half in shock of what I just witnessed. I think I sat there or five minutes before turning my head to look around.
I held the tree as I slowly stood up. I peak from behind the tree to see nothing but darkness. I made my way even further into the forest in hopes of finding Kaldr.
"Kaldr I hope you're okay." I said under my breath.
My boots were full of snow, my hands are froze and I'm scared for my life. I should've never come here I shoulda listened to that old bag, "STUPID!" I shouted.
I rubbed my hands together and pressed on walking.
And then, my heart dropped whenever I looked back to hear that terrifying screech again. The light was red and this time I knew for a fact, it had its sights locked right onto me.
