I walked down a dark corridor. I had no idea where I was or how I got there. All I know was that I had to get out of there fast. My heartbeat was slowly picking up the pace. My head was pounding with every beat my heart made. My breathing was shallow and loud. I took deep breaths every now and then to try and calm my heart and quiet my breathing. I continued to walk down the corridor. I felt a breeze come from my left side. I shivered and changed my course. Hopefully this was a way out. The further I went down the corridor I could hear some people talking. I took a deep breath and continued down the corridor. As I got closer the hushed murmurs became more distinct. “Where did she go?”
“I don’t know. We need to find her quickly.” the talking ceased and I heard their footsteps coming toward me. I gasped quietly and quickly hugged the wall closest to me. The two people walked by me very quickly. As they passed a light wind passed over me. I held my breath and quietly made my way down the corridor again. I wonder who they were talking about. Who did they need to find? I sincerely hoped it wasn't me. I kept walking, hoping to find an exit then I tripped over a crack. I let out a small shriek. “There she is! I’ve found her!” a man yelled. He started running towards me. My eyes widened. I picked myself up and ran. I kept running, not knowing if there was any hope left for me. The man quickly gained on me. I tried to pick up the pace, but my legs couldn’t take it. The next thing I knew the man pinned me to the floor. “I’ve got her!!!” Hot tears were streaming down my face.
“No! Let me go!!!!” I screamed. “Who are you? What do you want!?”
He slapped his hand over my mouth and said, “Shut up.” I screamed through his hand. “I said ‘shut up’!!” Enraged, I opened my mouth and bit his hand.
He let go and screamed, “OW! You little-” he never got to finish because I kicked him in the nuts and ran away. At the end of the corridor there was a bright light. ‘Please be freedom!’ I thought. I ran towards the light as fast as I could. The closer I got to it I realized it was just a plain white room. My hopes died away quickly. Inside the room there was a chair and many different tools used for torture, at least that’s what I thought it was used for. The door shut behind me. I turned around quickly to face a tall stick like woman. “Ah! Cali! I’m so glad you could make it!” she said to me. She looked at me with an evil glint in her eyes. “Please. Sit,” she said with a sick and twisted smile. She motioned to the chair that had arm and foot restraints on them. I shook my head at her. “I said sit,” she said with a commanding tone. Reluctantly, I did as she said. “Good.” She tightened the arm and foot restraints on me. “This might hurt a bit,” she said evilly. She took a small knife and brought it close to my face. She cut through my skin. It felt deep. I screamed in pain. She laughed at me. “Now, now darling. Hush. Don’t want to wake the others now do we?”
“Screw the others! Let me go!!” I spat in her face. Her nostrils flared and she slapped me on my wound. I ground my teeth in pain. She backed away from me and picked up a gun from the table. She raised it and pointed it at me. “No! No! Please don’t!” I yelled. She stared at me for a moment then pointed the gun at her head and shot herself. Her thin body fell limp onto the concrete floor. The tears were streaming down my face again. “Somebody! Please! Help me!” I screamed.
There was a loud bang and I woke up in a cold sweat with hot tears streaming down my face. "Momma? Momma where are you? I need you..." I yell out only to receive no response.
