A couple of weeks later, Josh, the other Josh, decided that he was not going to waste any time in making Oli truly his. Today was finally going to be the day when he was finally going to ask the older man to marry him. He’d been planning the proposal in his head ever since he met him, everything was going to be perfect. Not only was he going to propose to the man of his dreams, but he was also going to get back at the man who made him suffer for months, the man who destroyed his dreams of finally being happy.

As he made his way down the stairs, he smiled widely, looking at the people as they spoke into their phones, walking to their cars outside in the parking lot. Today would probably be like any other to them, full of stress. It made him feel special to think that his case would not be the same, he’d potentially gain his future husband.

When the young man made it to the bottom of the stairs, he bumped into someone, making their things fall. He was quick to help the mystery person pick up their things.

“I’m so sorry.” he said, handing the books that had fallen to the person. When he looked into the person’s eyes, his own widened. “Andrew? Andrew Watkins?”

“Well, if it isn’t the one and only, Joshua Flint.” the other man smiled, stuffing his books in his bag. “What are you doing here?”

“I’m on tour with my boyfriend. What brings you here?”

“I’ll have you know that I didn’t drop out of college and continued pursuing my photography major. I’m on an assignment to photograph touring musicians. I didn’t know you were still dating Franceschi?”

“Oh god no.” Josh said, running a hand through his hair, laughing to himself. “We broke up a long time ago, shit happened, and so it didn’t work. I’m happily involved with someone else now, I’m actually planning to ask him to marry me tonight. Would you like to come to the little dinner I organized? There’s only going to be about five bands, I can even ask them if you can take pictures, if you’d like.”

“That’d be so great.” Andrew said, blushing a bit. “Where is it going to be?”

“At the Olive Garden down the street at six.”

“Okay, I’ll see you there.”

“I know you will, see you then.”

Andrew smiled at Josh before he turned and walked away. What the older man didn’t know was that Andrew was in love with him. He didn’t realize that all those nights they spent studying together meant so much to the younger man. Didn’t realize when they touched or made eye contact made Andrew fall for Josh a tiny bit more.

Oli smiled at himself in the mirror as he readied himself to go to dinner. Josh had said to him that he needed to dress in his best outfit. At first, Oli looked at Josh like he was crazy. Today wasn’t anything special. When he was going up the stairs, back up to their room, he remembered what was supposed to be celebrated today; their one month anniversary.

Now, as he put the final piece of clothing, the young man smiled like he’d received the news of his life- he didn’t realize what was still to come. His phone started to ring just as he was heading out the door. He took it out of his pocket and checked his messages.
