Naruto and Ino met by the front gate and started to walk to Naruto's house.
When they got to his house, Naruto went straight to the fridge and got out a cupcake that had the words "Happy Birthday" written on it with frosting.
While he was doing that, Ino noticed two things. First off, there were no pictures of Naruto's parents there. And second, she knew what was written on the cupcake.
"Hey Naruto? Is it your birthday today?" Ino asked.
"Yeah." Naruto said.
"Oh, well happy birthday Naruto!" Ino said cheerfully.
Naruto smiled and said "Thank you Ino."
After a while of working on homework, they finally finished.
"Naruto? How come I haven't seen your parents at all?" Ino asked.
"Um....my parents are....dead." Naruto said sadly.
Ino felt so bad for asking.
"Naruto, I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have even asked." Ino said.
"It's alright. You didn't know." Naruto said, trying to lighten the mood.
