The Curtis Sister "Alexis Curtis"

Chapter 4

A/N We have now entered a part of the story where the events in the book match up. There will be a few extra events though.

Two bit, Johnny and Alexis ran outside. They saw some Socs beating up PONYBOY. Alexis looked at Johnny and saw fear throughout his entire face. "Johnny stay here. Can't have you getting hurt again." Alexis
said to Johnny. She and Two bit ran to help Ponyboy. Steve, Soda and Two bit started wrestling th Socs in the car. Alexis picked up a rock and threw and the windshield. It shattered and the Socs let out a scream. Dally came out of no where and threw a stick at their car. Alexis jumped on the hood of the car. As they drove away Alexis jumped off the hood. She ran over to Ponyboy with Soda behind her.

"They pull a blade on you?" Soda asked. Ponyboy nodded trying to hold back tears. "Pony your gonna be okay." Alexis said patting him in the shoulder. "They ain't gonna hurt you no more." Soda said. "You can't go walking by yourself on the street." Darry said. "All I did was walk home from the movie." Ponyboy replied. "Movies and books, movies and books. You know I wish you would concentrate on something else in your life once in a while." Darry complained. "Darry he gets straight A ' s come on!" Alexis said. "You should concentrate on girls and cars. Works for me." Soda said hitting Darry lightly in the stomach. Alexis rolled her eyes.

"If you were gonna walk by yourself you should have a least carried a blade." Darry said annoyed. "Yeah that would have been a great excuse for the Socs to cut his neck a little more there!" Soda said accusingly. "Darry he would have just gotten hurt more." Alexis explained."If I want to to hear what to do with my kid brother from my other kid brother and kid sister I'll ask them alright." Darry said. He headed back toward the house. "Why's he always gotta be like that?" Ponyboy complained. "He's just got more worries than he used to since mom and dad died." Soda explained. "Don't take it personally Pony." Alexis comforted. "How am I not supposed to take it personally?" Ponyboy asked.

"How's the kid?" Dally asked leaning against a pickup truck. "Fine. What are you doing outta the cooler Dal?" Ponyboy asked. "Yeah and what are you doing walkin by your lonesome in the street?" Steve asked. "None of business." "What do you mean none of my business look at my NOSE!" Steve exclaimed. "It's huge!" Ponyboy said. Alexis laughed. "Hey Dally aren't you supposed to be in the cooler?" Alexis said. "Talked my way out of it. Hey Johnny, how you doing bro?" Dally said walking over to Johnny. "Be a lot better if the Socs stayed out of our side of town." Johnny replied. "Were those the guys that did that to your face?" Dally asked him.

"No. Some other guys." Johnny said. "Hey I'm gonna make my business to kick their heads in." Dally said pulling his cigarette out of his mouth. "The way you described them made me think that they did it because you were an easy target." Alexis said. "What do you thin about me becoming your personal bodyguard Ponyboy?" Two bit asked. "I don't think it's too hot of an idea." Ponyboy replied. "Hey, Dally you wanna Co e to the game with us with Sylvia?" Soda asked. "I wanna come!" Ponyboy exclaimed. "We're taking Evie and Sandy with us. Which mean no kids allowed!" Steve barked.

"Just like Steve to not let you go anywhere." Alexis sighed. "Well I'm gonna go hunt some action and kids are allowed." Dally said. "I don't know Dally I can't get in know trouble with cops. Darry says if I do the court will split us up for sure." Ponyboy said anxiously. "I ain't looking for no trouble I just wanna see a movie." Dally said. "Come on Ponyboy it'll be alright." Johnny urged. "Lighten up Pone!" Alexis exclaimed. "Hey you guys wanna give me a push start!" Two bit yelled as Steve failed to flip off the edge of a car. "Okay." Alexis said. Ponyboy, Johnny and Alexis pushed the back of the car. Dally opened the gate of the fence. "Little broad was two timing me in jail again. It's cool. By the way we got a rumble tonight. Boy v Boy and Girl v Girl. I'll see you guys later." "See ya Dal." Ponyboy said.

Later that night

"THE GANG IS HERE!" Soda screamed adding more grease to his hair. "I get it! I get it! I'm standing right next to you!" Ponyboy screamed back. Alexis was hanging her head off the couch. "You guys take longer than the Soc girls." Alexis complained. Someone burst through the door scaring Alexis. She fell off the couch and landed on her back. The person who scared her was Steve. "Oops." He said scratching the back of his head. The next to come through door was Dally and Two bit who was obviously drunk because he was twirling around the room saying that he was a tango dancer. The last was Johnny with his hands in his pockets. Soda ran out of the bathroom and landed a flying tackle on Steve

"Boys will be boys." Alexis said as she rolled her eyes. "Alright Alexis remember, if things get bad just outrun them back here you got that?" Darry asked helping her off the floor. "Yeah yeah my fight gets done early I'll come and watch you guys." Alexis said. "Watch us beat them Socs to the ground!" Dally yelled. They all ran out the door. Darry pulled off a back handspring and Soda did a no hands cartwheel. Ponyboy flipped off the steps and cartwheeled to the front of the lawn. Alexis back flipped to the fence and flipped over that too. Two bit was still drunk and almost fell walking down the steps.

Alexis got on her hands and walked on her hands down the street. "I bet you can't do that the whole way to the rumble." Soda challenged. "Like you can!" "Is that a challenge!" "You bet it is!" Soda got on his hands and started walking down the street. "And you guys already look like tomatoes." Johnny said quietly but loud enough for people to hear. Dally put his arm around him and messed up his hair. "You bet they do Johnnycake. You bet they do." "Uhg I'm lightheadeeeeeed!" Alexis exclaimed. "I think every ounce of blood has gone to my head!" Soda complained. They finally made it to the rumble and Alexis and Soda flipped off their hands. "Oh dizziness can't feel my head." Alexis said. Soda had to sit down and put his he's between his knees. "That what you get for trying that." Darry said. "Worth it!" They both whispered.

"I gotta go. Good luck!" Alexis said. She ran over to a patch of trees to the clearing where the girl rumble was. The Socs started to pull up in there mustangs and corvairs. "Stay tough!" Darry said. Ponyboy looked to Johnny and saw a tiny bit of fear. "Hey like before we take down a big one together." Ponyboy said patting him on the back. "Okay." Johnny replied nodding his head. The Socs came up and suddenly they heard battle cries from the girl fight. Dally threw a punch and the rumble was on.
