The Boy

He fell in love with a boy

A boy who loved the sky and plants and wearing flowers in his hair

A boy who loved the sunrise more than the sunset

A boy of summer

A boy of warmth and light

But as fall ends and winter begins the summer boy who loved the sky changed

He's colder now

His warm skin doesn't match up to the harsh wind of winter

It bleeds

Through lines on his thighs and in cracks in his knuckles

Flushed skin turns pale

Wide eyes sunken into the back of his head

The thoughts of summer gone with the wind of snow and ice

Replaced with darkness and cold

The pinks and purples washed away of the sunrises he loved

Instead, dark blue of the starry winter night

The summer colour, torn from his being

Leaving an emptiness in his chest

Void of all feeling

Numb from the cold

He fell in love with this boy

And this boy fell in love with him
