You smile.

I cry.

You laugh.

I die, a little more inside.

You step towards her.

I step towards slipping.

Slipping away.

from the smile, painted on my lips.

The sorrow burning my eyes.

Slipping away.

from the pain,

and the anger

that own my heart.

Slipping away,

from bursting into tears in front of my peers.

Slipping away from life.

You smile.

I cry.

You laugh.

I die, a little more inside.

As the

Painted on smile begins to fade.

The sorrow stops burning as brightly.

The pain and anger ease to an end.

As the tears begin to stop.

As I come closer to my destination.

I dig deeper.

And deeper.

Just hoping to get there faster.

By the time you realise

My smile

And bright eyes

Fading.

By the time you realise

That your words don't STING anymore

By the time you realise.

I'll be at my destination.
