The shivering little child ambled their way down the silent road with no destination in mind, following wherever their small legs carried them. Their pale feature and prominent eyebags would've stuck out like a sore thumb if the dingy sky hadn't blanketed their figure.
The sharp wind was relentless, continuously pestering the innocent child; howling away as it set their thin jacket fluttering. It would stop its playful teasing for a moment before continuing. Your teeth chattered noisily as you hugged yourself, trying but failing to collect warm.
The street lights did a horrid job of lighting the road: its light would flicker on and off repeatedly. You put your guard up, the hovering moon was the only company you had. The only company you trust to have your back.
It was as silent as a grave, not a single noise could be heard but the rhythmic sound of your battered sneakers hitting the pavement.
A slight clang resonated to the right of you.
You tensed, before doing what every stupid character in a horror movie would do. You approached the source of the sound.
You tried your best to silence your footsteps and entered the ominous alley. Your instinct was telling you to RUN AND ESCAPE the confined area but with the recent things going on in your life, you simply don't care anymore.
You're tired of life.
Tired of living.
Life is short, no?
So what's the difference of speeding it up?
A slight movement from the corner of your eyes and you stiffen involuntarily. You can hear the ringing of your heartbeat rapidly and you hated how scared you felt. You don't care anymore, right? Why? Why are you regretting this?
Two shining orbs pierced through the dark space. Followed by a soft mewl. You sighed softly. A cat. You reminded yourself it's just a cat.
Bending down stiffly, you hold out your hand to let the fuzzy creature know you aren't a threat. Its beady eyes were calculative and watching your every movement warily as if its judging you.
It approached you hesitantly before gently nuzzling its head on your outstretched hand. You watched it do its thing before the fucking feline nipped your finger.
You winced and instinctively pull back your hand to examine the bitten finger. Its sharp fangs has pricked through the skin of your finger and you can see tiny drips of blood streaming slowly down the tiny wound.
You cursed at the feline sitting before you, its curious little eyes glinting maliciously under the fading moonlight and Its soft ebony fur blending in with the dancing shadow.
You cradled your injured hand, hissing profanities at the animal. It stared at you funnily before it had the gall to approach an rub its head on your crouched form. You had intended to scoot away from the bundle of dark fur before the air grew unusually colder.
"What the fuck..." you tensed further and jumped to your feet, alarming the tiny feline. "What do you want..?"
"Oh? You noticed?" An amused chuckle echoed to the right of you.
A hooded man cladded in black stepped out of the looming shadows."Tell me little one, what are you doing in the middle of the night?"
"..."
"Hmm... Are you grieving?"
You flinched.
"Seems I was right. You are grieving..." He cackled."Eyes really are the windows to your soul.... Let's keep em' Kurogiri."
