After school I was standing by myself at the front gate on my phone like a normal 21st century person. Then suddenly I feel a presence behind me.
"Hey"
I turn around to see a familiar face
"Hey Noah"
"How are you getting home?" He says casually leaning up against the gate keeping his eyes locked into mine.
"Oh I'm just walking home cause-"
"Do you want me to walk with you?"
He blurts out then blushes immediately.
I look up at him not knowing what to say and then his smile slowly fades.
"I mean cause well I don't really have anyone to walk with and you don't either so I thought-"
"Yea that's fine" I interrupt "It's a bit of a long walk but"
"I like long walks" he smirks at me.
I put my phone into my bag and start walking and he follows up behind me.
It's silent for a bit then he starts talking.
"I never knew Mr Akers was so rude!"
I laugh. Mr Akers was the maths teacher and he was a pain in the ass
"He was saying to me that I'm stupid because I'm new or some shit!" He says as excited as a puppy
"Yea well he's just like that. Ya know?"
"Never seen a ruder teacher in my life!!" He exclaimed throwing his hands up in the air.
I just laugh.
He looks over at me with the biggest grin on his face.
"What?" I laugh
"Nothing"
I smile at him and he smiles back. We stop in our tracks and just stand their admiring each other.
He turns around and the moments gone.
We continue to walk in silence for the rest of the way. I keep thinking of scenarios in my head. What was that about? What is there like something funny with me? Why were we just staring at each other
"My house is over there" i point out
He stops and laughs.
"What is it!" I play push him
"See your house" he says moving closer to me.
"Yes"
He grabs my hand and points it to the house next door to mine.
"That's where I live"
"No way"
"Yes" he says looking down at me, still holding my hand. He quickly lets go and blushes.
"Well I guess I'll see you tomorrow" he says
"Bye"
