"OMG THAT'S WHAT HE SAID!" Alicia shrieked and I nodded trying to calm her down. She jumped around and stopped for a moment looking back at me.
"Would you say yes if he..... are you ready to give him a chance?" She said it quietly remembering what had happened last time she teased her about Leo. When I nodded after a moment she jumped up and skipped to the calendar hanging on her closet door. She dragged her finger along a specific week and then ran to me again, excitement in her eyes.
"We're going shopping."
Before I could ask anything else she pulled me out of her room and ran up to her mom whispering in her ear. Whatever she said, made her mom giggle and give me a funny look. She nodded and Alicia's mom made a quick call to my mom before they both stuffed me into their car and drove off towards Mandees my favorite store. Once we came inside a woman smiling gave us a card which was a coupon for a matching combo. They always had these sort of sales going on.
As we walked in the song "Timber" came on and we silently sang along as we made our way to the fancy dress section. Although it is just a dance, in high school, everyone treats it like a prom showing up in a fancy dress or tux. We learned that from last year when everyone was in dresses and tux except most of the freshman class and most of us were pretty embarrassed in only a cool shirt and pants. Alicia held up a blue strapless dress to me and I shook my head at it. I'm pretty modest and that dress looked almost too formal and well "showy". She held another one up to me and I scrunched my nose at it. She shot me a 'stop being picky' look which of course I ignored.
"Why don't we look at the jewelry first, it could give us some ideas." I suggested and defeated she put the dress back and we headed to the jewelry section. There I found a cool red ring that was on sale and Alicia agreed it was perfect along with a nice necklace with a ribbon shape trinket on the necklace.
"You should go for a red dress," Alicia said and I nodded and went back. Alicia was still debating to choose between a black ring or a pretty blue ring that looked like an egg. By myself now I flipped through dress after dress. Most were very showy or didn't fit and I almost lost hope. But then I found it. Red caught my eye to a dress near the fitting rooms hidden and once I uncovered it I smiled. Not too showy, not too formal, red, and my style. (See pic above to see what they dress and accessories) I went into the fitting room and crossed my fingers as I got into it. I moved around to make sure it was comfortable. It was a perfect fit.
"Steph are you in-OMG" Alicia almost let go of the dress she was holding and came over to me. She ranted about how nice I look and how she liked my sense of style. I thanked her and took a look at her dress. It was a red and had a beautiful belt in the middle and though it was simple it was very beautiful and Christmas like. The dress was pretty neat and I congratulated her on her sense of style.

"Thanks I sent the pics of the two rings and ask Damien about it and he said I should choose the black one since it is the color of my soul. He is such a genius sometimes." she bragged and went into the fitting room next to mine to try on the dress. I mentally rolled my eyes and waited for her to see how it looked. She too was also glamorous in it and we spent 10 minutes taking selfies of ourselves in the mirror before an employee, who got agitated by the amount of time we took told us we had to pay now if we wanted the dresses.
I covered Alicia's mouth before she said something foul and dragged her to the cashier where Alicia's and my mom (she had met them there) paid for our things. It was luckily half off the whole price for making a combo with accessories and the dresses. We left happily and got some Dunkin Donuts before we each went our separate ways home. Once home I decided to call Leo to see what he thought of the dress. Face timing him, I guided him through the stuff I got and he said it was cool. He showed me the black tux he was going to where and we spoke until we each got called for dinner and left. I was excited for the dance and to make things better my mom had the perfect red heels and red purse to go with it (pic above).
The next day at school i kept getting looks and hearing whispers and i knew they had heard what had happened. I felt uncomfortable to be stared at by everyone so even though it was cold and I didn't have my jacket I ate outside. No sooner had I gone that Lynx came and sat beside me and I didn't push him away, I was too lonely. Not being able to sit with my friends for once hurt and felt weird so I tolerated his company. After just sitting there for a while he turned to me and asked,
"So how are you feeling."
"Good." He nodded and I could tell he wanted to ask me something or let something off his chest.
"I know you want to say something don't be afraid let it out." I encouraged and he let out a little laugh before starting.
"I just wanted you to know I've turned over a new leaf and that I hope you can forgive me and give me and chance to prove myself to you that I could be a great friend and maybe-"
"I get it and I do think you deserve a second chance for buying Leo time to come save me. We're friends." He smiled and hugged me tightly.
"Thank you." I patted his back and no sooner had he hugged me that Leo came outside with a tray of food. He saw Lynx hug me and he automatically dropped his food as if he had been blindsided. He gave us a look, one I couldn't identify and Lynx finally let me go and walked back inside saying hi to Leo. Leo glared at Lynx who stopped for a moment.
"Hey dude what's wrong you seem-" BOOM! Lynx never saw it coming as Leo punched him in the face. I gasped and ran over to Lynx whose nose was running with blood and was on the verge of tears.
"LEO what is wrong with you." I shouted at him but he just ignored me and turned around with his arms crossed. As soon as he turned his back Lynx growled and got up and tackled Leo to the ground. They rolled around punching, kicking, and cursing at each other.
"GUYS PLEASE STOP!' I started to sob but they continued like I wasn't there. I decided to run in and tell Damien and Tyler. They were at our usual table laughing and eating their food.
"DAMIEN, TYLER, PLEASE HELP! LEO AND LYNX ARE FIGHTING!" They automatically got up and followed me outside. People who over heard followed and soon everyone was outside recording the two fighting, egging them on as Damien and Tyler tried breaking them up. The security guard sent everyone in except Lynx and Leo who were sent to the Nurse and then to the Principal's office.
Ohhh no. Now he'll probably won't be allowed to go to the Christmas Dance and be suspended. Why did they even fight anyways?
