Winter:
I checked my appearance in the rear-view mirror in my car, to check if there was evidence of what happened at home. I pulled my sleeves over my hands and adjusted my scarf. Once I was certain I was covered, I took a deep breath, grabbed my bag and stepped out of my truck, locking it. I scanned the parking lot looking for the way to the office and saw a few people scattered around in small groups , all giving me curious glances. I was quite early so I could get my schedule, find my home room and all that new kid stuff.
I looked around the campus, looking for signs to tell me where the main office was and one caught my eye which was pointing in the direction of a wide and old staircase which had two old looking wooden doors at the top of the stair case. I guessed it was the main entrance and walked in through the doors. I received the same reception from the people inside as I stepped in but it wasn't anything like what you read in books and saw in movies when a new girl walked into the school. They were just curious and seemed to not care about my presence all that much. I sighed. Even when people had never seen me before they still didn't spare me their time of day.
I finally found the office. I received my schedule and spent a good twenty minutes or so trying to find my home room. I found myself wandering clueless through the corridors and grumbled in frustration. The numbering system in that school was awful! Where the hell is room 122?!
90, 123, 180
I groaned. "Whoever numbered these rooms needs to learn how to count." I thought out loud and blushed lightly when I gained myself more strange looks.
I looked back down at my map, which was not helping in the slightest and walked straight into someone, which due to my awful luck sent me bloody flying. My butt hit the ground with a small thud and I looked up with wide eyes. My breath caught in my throat and I had to drag my eyes away before I started staring at this guy. Dayum. He was hot. I mentally slapped myself.
"I'm so sorry! I wasn't paying attention!" I apologised quickly although he was the one who knocked me over.
"Nonsense, it was my fault. Here," He offered me his hand and pulled me to my feet.
"Thanks," I muttered, shyly.
He offered me a kind smile. "Do you need a hand with that?" He asked, gesturing to my schedule.
After a moment of contemplating I nodded. "Please. These halls are so confusing." I sighed.
He chuckled. "Don't worry. They're not that bad once you get used to it"
He took my schedule. "122. That's the same homeroom as mine. What are the chances?" he chuckled. "Come on"
"Oh, great" I smiled.
We walked down the corridors, earning me even more curious glances and I looked down at the floor. My face was burning up and I was relieved that I wore makeup or else I would've looked like a damned tomato. Stop looking at me!
"So, what's your name?" He asked, pulling me from my thoughts.
"Winter" I muttered as I played with my sleeves.
"Aw that's a nice name," he smiled. " I'm Jackson, but you can call me Jack."
I nodded, with a small smile.
"Here we are" he grinned.
He opened the door for me and I thanked him while walking in and froze when I saw the whole room was staring at me.
"Who is she?" I heard someone whisper.
"I don't know but i like her make up," someone else whispered.
