chapter 7

Isaiah and Kaleb walked further down the hallway to meet up with Stan. They all stopped in front of each other and began conversation.

"Mr Grey, do you know where this young man's room is?"Isaiah asked.
"Um, yeah! I'll take him from here."
Stan replied and Kaleb joined him walking. Isaiah turned and walked back.

Stan looked at a clip board as they were both walking."hmm. It looks like you're supposed to be roomed with Ella..."Stan said. They both stopped walking."and let's be real here, no one goes in her room. Unless of course you wanna never be seen again. It's like a form of suicide."Stan said.

"Fair enough."Kaleb agreed."is there anywhere in particular you'd wanna be roomed?"Stan said."nah, I'm flexible."Kaleb assured. Stan looked at his clip board again and whipped out a pencil. He made a couple of marks and nodded his head.

"Well, I've found us an opening."Stan said and began walking. Kaleb followed eager to meet his new roommates.

As Kaleb walked into the room he saw two bunk beds on each side of the room, and a window in the middle of them on the far wall. Below the window, a night table with a lamp stood.

On the right side on the bottom bunk, a young white teenager with short black hair had big headphones in and was reading a book. He had his legs crossed next to a stack of three books on his bed.

The top right bunk was open. So was the bottom left. The top left bunk was just a cluster of blankets rolling around giggling. Kaleb decided to drop his bag down on the bottom left bunk because it was close to the bathroom which was a white door behind his bunk.

The young teen with headphones looked at him for a couple seconds then continued reading. Kaleb set up his pillow how he liked sleeping and arranged his things nicely under his bed.

Then he stood for a second thinking of something to do. He decided to walk over to the teen and ask for a book.
Kaleb: Hey bro, I'm Kaleb. What's your name?
Teen:(takes off headphones)
Kaleb: I'm Kaleb. Nice to meet ya!
Teen:... I'm Trey.
Kaleb: cool! So, I'm really bored, would you mind if I borrowed a book?
Trey picked up a book with a dark red cover and no title letters on it.
Kaleb: oh... Looks cool. What's it about?
Trey: guess you'll have to find out.
He then leaned back, put his headphones back on and delved back into his book.

Hayden began reading and was about 1/4 ways through when he noticed Trey stand up and flip the light switch off. Hayden was shocked when the lights first shut off. It was too sudden. Then he realized it was like ten night. Hayden went to sleep...

Hayden woke up the next morning early. He couldn't help it. His entire life he had gone to sleep early and woke up early around seven. He stood up and stretched his arms. Trey was curled in a ball against the wall on Trey's bunk. Strange kid.

Hayden made sure noone was awake and he got dressed right in the middle of the floor. Like a savage.
He didn't think the gigglers would mind. He was pretty sure there were two people up there having some fun.

Once Hayden was dressed and combed his pony tail and head hair and stuff, he headed to the food court for breakfast.

When he got there, he was surprised how awake and running everything was, Stan and Ella were sitting at one table. Isaiah at another with his group of friends. The bar where you chose your food had an extremely large array of foods to choose from with a short line and like 10 lunch ladies.

Hayden decided on a sugary cereal which they didn't have at his village and a blueberry muffin.

He looked around the lunch room deciding on where to sit.

He eventually decided on next to Stan and Ella. He sat his tray down next to Ella's and across from Stan's."hey tiger."Ella said. She wore a black tanktop and sweatpants."hey Ella, hey Stan."Hayden replied.

"Why didn't you room with me?"Ella asked with a grin."you don't usually, let people around your stuff."Stan said."that's just you Grey."Ella remarked."what's wrong with me?"Stan said."it's strictly business between us."Ella answered.

Hayden smiled and bit into his muffin.
