Chapter 14:

692 35 124

(Jack's POV)

--"Jack if you want to see your family we better start going now," Gloria said holding my wrist. I nodded. 'I can't wait to see my family again! I am sure they are worried!'

(Ash's POV)

--That was it! Gloria had begun to slow down I was catching up! I reached out for her shirt.

--"Auntie wait-!" I grabbed her shirt but then she disappeared. 'Where did she go? She just vanished.' I was so lost in my own thoughts that my body was moving faster then my feet. I tripped landing head first into a sharp rock. I tumbled and rolled. I came to a quick stop when my back hit a tree.

--My vision started to blur. Blood was seeping into my eyes. I reached for my head and felt only blood. 'Oh Sam please forgive me.' I fainted with a picture of Sam in my head.

(Your POV)

--I sat in the waiting room in the police station. It had been 6 hours since I had last seen Ash or Gloria. It was 1am and my two kids were sleeping on my lap. I gently ran my finger through both of their hair. A police officer rushed over.

--"Mrs. Mcloughlin we found your son. He was in bad shape so we put him in surgery as soon as possible. Sorry there was no time to ask permission," the police officer said before leaving once again.

--My eyes watered. Surgery? That can't be he was smiling and laughing may just the other day! 'Did I do something wrong?'

(Time skip)

--It was morning and my kids started to wake up. I gave them five bucks to get something from the vending machine in the hospital. They quickly ran off hungry. I hadn't slept in the past 24 hours maybe more, I lost count. I had gotten a text from Mark saying he would try to get to the hospital as soon as possible. A nurse walked out and straight towards me. I quickly stood up.

--"Ma'am I am so sorry, Ash died on the operation table," the nurse  said with tears in her eyes. My heart shattered. 'D-e-dead!? She was a lair! Where was Gloria!? That b*tch! She should have protected him!'  I stood in shock. I heard a cup glass cup shatter against the ground. My eyes widen as I turned to look towards the right.

--There stood Sam and Caden with looks of horror on there faces. Tears streamed down both of their faces. Sam  was the one who had dropped the glass of milk. We all stood there not knowing what to do with now 2 people in our little family dead.

(This is a long time skip like 2 months)

--Sam was doing horrible in school. Her grades were dropping like crazy and she never saw her friends anymore. When she came home she went straight to her room and only came out to eat dinner. I had taken her so see a doctor.

--"She is depressed. We normally don't see this in kids as young as she is but it is still possible. I recommend taking pills and try to spend as much time as you can with her," the doctor told me as we were leaving. 'I am a horrible mother. I let my husband die, then my kid dies. Now my daughter in depressed? What type of person am I?'

--After that day I quit my job and spent all my time with Sam. One day while watching a movie I noticed that Sam's eyes were black. They were lifeless as if she were dead. I pulled her close and began to cry. Sam said nothing, she didn't react. She was alive but her soul was gone.

--"I am so sorry my baby girl. I know you haven't lived a normal childhood. I am so sorry. I am sorry for not saving your dad. Instead I just watched. I am so sorry," I cried and cried hugging my daughter.

(Sam's POV)

--'I want to die. I want to kill the woman or man who killed to daddy. I loved him so much and they murdered him! I want to die! I WANT TO DIE!'

--Mommy pulled me close to her and kept saying how sorry she is.

--"I love you Sam," mommy said. They were the only words I cared about.

--"I love you too, mommy," I said weakly not bothering to look at her. The door bell rang and she got up to get it.

(Your POV)

--I opened my door to see a police officer standing there with his cap off. My eyes widen 'Caden?!'

--"Are you the mother of Caden Mcloughlin?" the officer said holding his hand out.

--"I am," I said while shaking his hand, "what is this about?"

--"I am sorry ma'am but Caden got hit by a bus today while walking across the street from school. He is dead," the officer said while sighing.

(Sam's POV)

--'A police officer? Caden? Dead? That is all I hear. My two older brother's are dead and so is my daddy. Is it my turn now? I suppose so.' I stood up and walked to the bathroom and turned on the bath water.

(Your POV)

--"We have Caden's body at the station. Can you please come down in the next 12 hours to say what to do with him," the officer asked. I nodded weakly and waved good bye and closed the door. I heard running water.

--"Sam!?" I ran to the restroom to see Sam lifeless in the bath tub. I quickly turned off the water and pulled Sam out. She had drowned herself. She must have over heard. I desperately wiped the hair out of Sam's face and kissed her head as I began to cry. I buried my face into her chest. 'Why has everyone I love leave me?'
