(Y/n) didn't let the sadness stop her from getting A's in her classes. She attended every class, but whenever the teacher would ask her to answer a question, she would just stare at him, until he called someone else and then she would doodle away in her notebook or something. She'd even gotten into trouble a couple of times, but nothing too severe. Zero didn't attend class at all. But (Y/n) was glad that she didn't have to see him. Because if she did... she would shatter into a million pieces.

"You're pathetic, you know that?" Aleris growled as she walked towards Zero. The silverette sighed and looked at her.
"What are you going on about?" He asked in his monotone.
"Do you have ANY idea how much you hurt (Y/n)?! Just by telling her you weren't interested?!" Aleris walked over and slapped Zero. His eyes widened and he looked up at her. He was speechless. "She's broken. Even worse than before. Every night, she wishes for the same thing.
For you to notice her. For you to see how much she loved you. It's clear that (Y/n) deserves you... deserved. But you... you monster!" Another slap. "You don't deserve her. You deserve to burn for how badly you hurt that innocent soul!" The girl turned on her heels and fumed away, leaving Zero alone to think about his mistake.
He really did hurt her, didn't he? And instead of apologizing, he chose to run away from the problem and hide in his room. The look of hurt that he saw on her face the minute he told her he wasn't interested was a look he'd never seen before. Not even on Yuki. The look sent a wave of pain throughout his heart. He felt, for a brief moment, that he had just felt the rejection. And boy did it hurt.
