Mira's pov

It's been almost a week since the last time I have seen jace, and for some reason I had this aching pain in my chest.

Jaces mom walked in with a tray.

"Hey Mira. I have some food and Advil for the pain. It won't go away for a while though."

I narrow my eyes.

"How do you know it won't go away if I take the medicine?" She shrugged, looking a bit taken back by my question.

While eating my food, Luca walks in. He stops and just stares at me.

"What? What's wrong.?"

He just gives me a grin.

"Your finally gaining more weight. Your skin is glowing the bruise is almost gone and your eyes actually aren't dull anymore. I'm happy that your getting healthier. It's a big relief."

Just then he hands me a stack of papers.

I groan internally. Luca has been bringing me my homework while I get better. And everyday it's always a stack of papers I have missed. Notes, class work. Tests, and homework.

This week just keeps getting better and better.

Note the sarcasm. "Do you know exactly when jace will be back. I kind of miss him a little bit." I tried to play it off as just a small question not putting much emotion into it. On the inside I was dying. I wanted to be around him. To me that was just a tad weird considering I don't know him that well.

"You have to be patient Mira. He's one trip with his dad, they wanted sometime together."

I nod.

God, everything here was boring. They barely let me outside, I was always in this room. And not aloud to walk around that much. It was driving me crazy.

When Luca left I opened the door and walked out into the hall.

Nobody, this is my chance. I started to explore the mansion. There were rooms everywhere.

Every section of the mansion had its own theme. Like the old 19th century furniture and nick knacks in the west wing. More of a forestry area in the east wing where there was a large library. I knew I would spend most of my time there. Light sun colors and whites in the north wing. And when I got to the south it was dark. Dungeon kind of themed. I took a flight of stairs down into what I though was a cellar. But actually ended up being a cell.

I froze. It was damp and mildew was on the walls. I held back the barf that wanted to come up. A few men were in the cells huddled together.

They glanced up at me.

"Well look at what we got here boys. A she wolf. And nice looking one at that." One of the men said. His voice was disgusting and raspy. It make a slimy shiver go down my back. Goosebumps appeared on my arms.

My heart would not stop beating miles per second. They all stood and reached out to grab me. I backed away up to the wall.

"Why are you all in here? What did you guys do?" I whispered.

"Your the little kitten that shot our alpha in the shoulder arn't you?"he growled. Like really growled. It sounded deep. Rumbling in the depths of his chest.

Tears started to form.

I chanted to myself that this wasn't real. They were just a hallucination.

I kept shaking my head to make this image disappear. But they were still there.

"So sweetheart. Got a name." The man continued.

"Yes, but it doesn't mean I'll tell it to you."

He grinned wickedly at me.

"Ouch, she wolf got a bite. I like that. Now let me out please. I'd like to take you away from this place and have my many ways with you."

I now really wanted to puke. This man was disgusting in so many ways.

His brown long hair was greasy from not being washed, his teeth yellow. And he stunk of a sewer. His eyes held mine. They were a brown with mix of green. It looked like a deformed algae. I ran out of the room. Slamming the door behind me. Hearing the man yell at me to open the door.

I ran to the library I had passed and sat on the second floor patio chair staring at the sun that was now setting.

Jaces pov

It seems like years have passed and it's only been a week. I sat in my cabins armchair watching tv. My dad walked in with my mom.

"How is she mother?"

My mom smiled. "Growing healthy. Each day it seems she is getting stronger. You don't see her ribs anymore. Her spine is still a little showy. But other then that muscle is growing everywhere. I think in another week she should be fine."

At that moment I felt scared out of my mind. And I wanted to just crawl into a corner and hide.

"Mom, call Luca tell him to check on Mira. I feel like something is wrong."

She nodded and pulled out her phone dialing Luca.

"Hey sweetheart, is Mira okay?........I'm sorry what was that.........YOU WHAT!!!...."

Now I began to panic.

"CHECK THE ENTIRE MANSION. I'm bringing jace......Luca lost Mira. He said he can't find her. But her scent led to the dungeons."

And that's when I just lost it. Before anyone could say anything else. I was running back to the mansion.

It took only minutes for me to get there.

Her scent hit me. It was still in the house. I followed it. Luca was right she was in the dungeons. I ran down the flights of stairs and glared at the men in the cells.

"Well look who it is. Our favorite prince. What brings you to our humble cells?"

I grabbed the guys shirt through the cell and brought him against the bars.

"Where is she.?"

He grinned. "Oh you mean the lovely little she wolf. Oh well I'm not quite sure. Before I had a word with her about how I would love to take her in anyway possible. She ran. Pity, it was nice seeing something so beautiful down here."

I threw him away causing him to fall on his back.

"Listen here you bastard, you lay a hand on her you will be a given a death so painfully slow you'll wish to just be ended."

I ran back upstairs locking the door behind me. Her scent hit me again. I followed it to the library from the door I could see her gold hair sprawled out on the arm chair. She was fast asleep .

I walked upstairs to see her legs pulled up underneath her. Her arms lay out on the arm of the chair, and her head lay flat on her arms. A book was open on her lap.

I smiled. Then I saw what the book title was. Origins of Lou garou. My species.

Great she is getting closer.

I put the book back and carry her back to the room.

My mom was right. Her body was filling out to some nice small curves. Her legs looking more toned and less skinny. Her face seemed fuller. Her lips not a sick pale color, but almost red. A tan color was forming. Her hair was shiny and full of life. I couldn't wait to see her when she was ready to shift.

Regrettingly I had to leave.

My mom and dad still waiting In the cabin.

"She fell asleep in the library reading about us. And she did see the cells. So mom be careful what you say around her."

My mother nodded then left after giving my dad a kiss.

"Son, it's not long till you'll be able to be around her again, don't worry she'll be fine."

I nodded knowing my dad was right.

My pack was there to keep her safe, along with Luca, and my mom.
