It was Theo. What is he doing here? I looked at him and studied him for a little bit. I then realized he was wearing an employee's uniform, and there was blood on his hand. Wait does he work here? And why does he have blood on his hand? I have so many questions. I looked down and found the reason of blood. He just punched the living hell out of someone. Dear God, what did he do?
I ran up to him, and drop the groceries to the floor, while saying, "What the hell? You almost killed that guy." I grabbed his hand too look at it, but he yanked it away.
"Why do you care?" He said with some aggression, and started to wipe his hand. You can tell he was in pain, but he played it off as if he didn't. "It's not like you like me anyway." He added as he looked down at me and then back down at the ground.
"You're right." I began. "I don't care. But that doesn't mean you go and punch some guy, now does it." But I knew I was lying to him, and myself. There was a part of me that does care, that's why I came over here. I care about everyone, which is a fault of mine.
"Look, you don't know why I did it, okay, so just back off." He said pretty agitated. "It's not like you would understand anyway."
"Okay fine, then please enlighten me on why you punched this worker." I crossed my arms and showed a sassy attitude.
"He's my manager." He corrected me.
"Oh, even better." I said in sarcasm.
"Yeah I know." He took a pause, and I dropped my attitude, then I just looked at him. What is going on?
"What makes you want to know?" He asked me.
"I don't really know, maybe because I have a tendency to care about everyone, no matter if I like them or not. I care and I always understand what they are feeling." I said, kind of embarrassed, so I looked down.
"Well that's a good thing to have. It's called empathy." He said gently, and kind of chuckled. I looked at him and smiled.
"Now will you please tell me why you punched your manager?" I asked with puppy dog eyes.
"Fine, but only because you giving me puppy eyes." He laughed.
I pulled my fist in, and murmured, "yes." under my breath.
"Okay so I punched this asshole, because he won't give me any shifts. I need to work so I can help provide for my family, because my mom busts her ass off 24/7, at an awful job, that pays her as much as this job pays me. I confronted this bastard, and told him about it a few times, and he knows my situation, so for him to always schedule me and then to tell me later on when I get here, that he doesn't need me, is a complete dick move if you ask me. Also the fact that, it isn't just me and my mom, so I have to clean the house, get my little sister from the bus stop, go to work, and then I have no time to do homework, so then I fail all of my classes, and there is too much stress. There is so much stress..." He kept saying that line. He was having a breakdown, and I was starting to cry, I pulled him into a hug.
"Look, Theo it's going to be okay. It's going to be okay. Look at me." He did so. "If you ever need help, just call me okay? I'm great with kids, if you want I can pick up you sister and watch her for a while, if you are busy, or just whenever okay?" I offered.
"No. No it's okay really." He said and he had calmed down a little bit.
"Okay, but if you need any help just call me alright?" I said, and I touched his shoulder. Damn did he have muscles.
"Wow, someone has some muscle now, don't you?" I said as I felt his muscles, he laughed.
"Yeah, I work out." He said, and everyone knew this. Like I said he is very fit. We both chuckled.
