Clemency's POV

So its been a few weeks into term now. I've become closer with Abbey and we practically do everything together. In regards to Ashton and Luke.. yeah, you could say I've avoided them majorly. I do feel bad, they haven't done anything, its just, im not used to that much attention and steering clear of them both it just, seemed like an all round easier option. I'm kind of close with Michael as he's my Spanish partner, or as we say is, 'Espanol Amigo' but as far as friendships go, Im Clemency two friends.

Slamming my locker closed i made my way towards the front entrance, gently putting both earphones in i walked to the rhythm of Pierce the Veil. Looking ahead i saw Abbey waiting for me by the door, with the boys, oh god. Why am i so worried anyway? Maybe because you've ignored them for no apparent reason? Probably. Pretending to text i awkwardly dodged passing students and found myself at the water fountain. Why don't i just hide hear until they leave? That could work.

"Hey Clemency!" A high pitched voice awoke me from my thoughts, grudgingly i turned around and plastered on a fake smile.

"Jess, hey..." Jess was the annoying popular one at our school, no, before you ask we are not 'friends', she just likes my accent. I wish she wouldn't.

"You coming to Jack's party this weekend?" She inquired, scowling at a small blonde pigtailed girl who had just knocked into her, then shaking it off and drawing her attention back to me.

"Oh, that's this weekend?" I acted, god i need to pay more attention in Drama, "Well, actually you see..." Anyone who even slightly knows of me knows i cant stand Jack or any of the 'popular crowd', i could always just say i'm at my grandma's?

"She's at mine". I turned round to see Ashton walking over, grinning triumphantly.

"Oh really?" Jess giggled, loving to hear the new gossip. She twirled a blonde curl between her fingers and chewed her gum intently, "So are you two..?" She began grinning, pointing a manicured finger between us both.

"Yes".

"No"

I scowled at Ashton, just to receive an arrogant smirk in return.

"Whatever you say Clem", Jess started, I shivered at the mention of my nickname, "See you both Monday!" She winked, bringing her IPhone out of her pocket and tapping away furiously as she walked off.

Sighing i turned to walk towards the door, met by Ashton staring down at me intently, blocking my passage. Seriously, i just want to go and get frozen yogurt with Abbey, is that too much to ask?

"You've been avoiding me haven't you".

"Ashton, seriously, just leave me alone.." I started, trying to get past him, but he just blocked me...by moving an inch to the side.

He chuckled at my irritably as i crossed my arms and looked up at his tall frame. "You have haven't you".

"So what if i have?" I asked unamused by his games. "You should take that as i hint".

He sighed, somewhat defeated, "Fine, just leave.." He said, standing aside, running his hand through his hair in frustration. Well that was easy? I honestly had expected a bigger fight from 'the school's main guy'.

Walking towards the door i looked back to see Ashton, frustratingly banging his fist on a nearby locker and grunting audibly. He looked up and i gave him a slight  sympathetic smile, his eyes glistened, shaking his head he walked in the opposite direction, scattering students to the outskirts of the corridor.

Without realising it, i had walked quite a large distance looking backwards; therefore smacking directly into the glass door. Rubbing my forehead i looked up to see Abbey chuckling with Michael, they had obviously seen. I rolled my eyes and opened the door to greet them. Thank god Luke and Calum had gone, did somebody say awkward? No? Just me... still counts.
