Disclaimer: I do not own the Elder Scrolls Series, Bestheda Studios does.
Slowly I awake to the sound of wheels of a carriage turning on the gravel road. "Tell me someone got the Mammoth and Giant that charged me?" I ask as I rub my head noticing the ropes bounding my wrist. "What in Oblivion?"
"Hey you? Finally awake? You tried to cross the border, right, walked right into that Imperial trap? Same as the thief the thief there" asks a blond haired Nord sitting to my left. "Yeah, seem I did when coming into Skyrim." I reply rubbing my temples.
"Well I'd be half way to Hammerfell, if it weren't for you damned Stormcloaks and your damned rebellion." A man says from the end next to the blond Nord. I roll my eyes and tune them out as I think. 'Damn it, just where the hell am I and how do I know these names and places? Can this day get any worse?'
I look in front of me and see the Female Nord waking up, and the conversation repeats with the blond and thief if not different. Minutes later a gate come into view and the blond, coming to find out his name is Ralof.
Suddenly an Imperial Guard yells. "General Tullius, sir! The headsman is waiting!" An old man, on a horse in General armour replys. "Good. Let's get this over with." In a frightened tone the Thief prays. "Shor, Mara, Dibella, Kynareth, Akatosh. Divines, please help me."
"Look at him, General Tullius, the Military Governor. And it looks like the Thalmor are with him. Damn elves. I bet they had something to do with this." Ralof states in disgust before his tone changes. "This is Helgen. I used to be sweet on a girl from here. Wonder if Vilod is still making that mead with juniper berries mixed in. Funny, when I was a boy, Imperial walls and towers used to make me feel so safe."
"And now their seen as your enemy, correct?" I ask but is all but ignored. While the carriage move to the block. Once we stop we are taken out and a Nord with a checklist calls names "who are you?" The scribe ask the girl. "I'm, Astrid Dovah." he then turns to me. "Nicolas Sage." He finds that me and Astrid aren't on the list.
"Captain. What should we do? Their not on the list." Looking at Astrid, a small light built girl in her late teens, black raven hair, sun kissed skin, and moonlight blue eyes, her face brightens lightly with hope of being set free, but soon changes to one of sadness. "Forget the list. Their both going to the block." The mans look turn to hurt. "By your orders, Captain. Follow the Captain, prisoners. I'm sorry, at least you'll die here, in your home land."
Her look of hope turns to grief. 'This isnt home, though I may look like a, Nord, as they say, I'm something different. If only I could remember. ' I ask myself as we head towards the block and I tune out the General and priestess as I stare up at the sky. The Headsman starts when a willing Stormcloak walks up not wanting the hear the prayer from the priestess.
People begin to shout from both sides. "Next, the the small female Nord in the rags!" The Captain yell pointing at Astrid. A roar is heard echoing across the fort "There it is again. Did you hear that?" The captain yells in anger "I said, next prisoner!" The Scribe sighs. "To the block, prisoner. Nice and easy." I watch as she hesitates but soon walks to the block. 'Again? I might not have been listening. Too much on my mind as it is.' I shrug and now watches the headsman slowly lifts his Ax.
"What in Oblivion is that!?" An Imperial watchtower yell and the Capitan calls. "Sentries! what do you see!" The Sentry yells frantically. "Its use hidden in the clouds! A Dragon!" He yells before the dragon lands on the tower in front of use. It shouts and a shockwave emits from its mouth, killing the Headsman without him seeing the face of his killer.
It roars and rock of fire falls from the sky. "Hey, Kinsman. Get up! Come on, the God's wont give us another chance!" Ralof yells. I run to the tower with Astrid behind me.
I quietly look around occasionally listening to them. As they head up I begin to follow and hey both stumble back as the dragon breaks into the tower. Ralof yell as he jumps out to the house nearby. "Jump!"
AN: sorry to have it short but putting it into two parts see good and what better place than here. And decided to edit it for my character Nicolas, a human not of this world, maybe a champion of a god, goddess, or even of a Deadra. So Ja ne
