I grabbed my combat boots from under my bed and wondered where the hell Violet was. And where the hell field B was. I was suppose to show up for training there today.
I walked outside to see if I could spot the field but I found nothing. I began to get frustrated and decided to sit on a bench instead of walking and looking like a complete idiot.
"Having trouble?"
I looked up and saw Brett smiling.
"Where did you go to last night? And what the hell happened to our..?" I looked at my hand.
"uhhhmmm...Well I don't really know what happened to our hands. And I left back to my room just as freaked out."
For some reason I didn't believe him. I was pretty good at that kind of stuff.
"Are you lying to me?" I asked.
"No. what makes you think I would lie about something like this?"
"The fact that you didn't look at me straight in the eye when you said 'i don't really know."
He looked down and then looked back at me with his grey eyes. I heard a faint scream and I turned to see Brianna hugging her stomach on the ground. I saw Brett run to her. She was probably just exagerating about a stomache ache or something.
I saw Brett jerk away from her and I looked down at her. Her body was turning a silver purple. What the fuck was happening. I looked into her eyes and saw them turn from blue to black.
"Brianna? ...Can you hear me? ...this better not be some kind of sick joke!"
"You can never be with him," she said faintly. "You'll destroy everyone and everything."
"what? what are you talking about?" I asked. "Brianna?!"
"Brianna?!"
..."Brianna!? oh my god!"
"Back up!" I heard the voice of a school official.
I saw three people carry Brianna off.
I looked around and Brett was no where to be seen. I walked around looking for him and I couldn't find him. A bell started ringing in the background and I saw people running. What now? I thought to myself. I saw a girl look at me and my bewildered face and she screamed "this is an emergenycy. run!"
Shit. What do I do?!?
I felt a hand suddenly start pulling me and I turned to see Violet pulling me. She took me to a room full of people and chairs.
"Settle down everyone," the lady at the podium In the middle of the room said.
"where..." I began when I turned and saw violet had dissapeared once again. great.
when the room's sound diminished and silence arouse the lady at the podium said we had been attacked.
"Brianna Tore was killed this morning by the dark ones. We are on high alert."
I couldn't believe what I had just heard. Brianna was actually dead.
I walked out of that room more confused than ever. I turned up to see Violet arguing with Brett.
"What the hell is going on?" I asked them.
They both turned and looked at me like some vulnerable little girl and it just made me more angry at them.
"Nothing you need to worry about." Violet said.
"Are you kidding me Violet. Stop treating me like I can't handle whatever it is your hiding from me. I'm sick of it."
"I just don't want you to get hurt. I'm responsible for you." She said.
"NO...I'm responsible for me. I'm tired of being your little puppy. I can handle it."
"o.k." she said. "Follow me."
I followed Violet and Brett into a room painted black with nothing in it. Violet took out her wand and waived it. The room began to transform into a room with computers, halograms, and weaponry.
"This is our combat room." Brett said.
I looked at him both with hatred and curiosity. I didn't know how to react to his actions. He was just a mystery I wasn't sure I wanted to get involved in.
"We're in a war and we have to fight back. See Avery there is a force more powerful than all of us. It's called the red star. And no one knows where it is or how it looks. It takes the shape of anything in the world. And we have to find it so we can stop this horrible war." Violet explained as halograms of the brutal war appeared. Hundreds of people were dieing gruesomly.
"I want to help." I said.
"You can't. You don't have the proper training." Brett said.
"What do you know? You don't even know me," I snapped.
"I know you more than you think," he said.
All of a sudden an exclamation point appeared on one of the screens. Violet walked to it and clicked on some button.
"Hello," she said.
"Listen up. I know what you Wiccans are after. I have taken over your central station and you're next unless I get what I want. And that is all of your royals," a deep and eerie voice answered.
"I will never do that!" Violet answered quickly.
"You will all die as Brianna did then. She decided the same as you my dear Violet," said the voice as the screen went black again.
I could see Violet's knuckles turning into fists and then walking up to one of the black walls and punching it. I walked up behind her and hugged her.
"See you can't join this. I won't let you die," she said.
"I can't just stand here and do nothing and let you go out there and die."
"Fine," she finally said.
"Tell her everything Brett. I need to go talk to the head administrator to put her up to date." she said to Brett.
