“Je vous transformer en poussière,” I heard my mom scream from the other side of the wall.
12:00 a.m. I read from my alarm clock. I laid back down on my bed and turned my head to the side, I could see my black boots in the corner, and what seemed like a spider crawling into them.
“Your going to wake her,” I heard my father say.
“Don't you think its time for her to know,” I heard my mother say right outside my bedroom door.
“No, she will know in time.”
“Its hard for me to keep it a secret, I have so much to teach her.”
“I know, but time will tell if she is to know.”
“I know,” I heard my mother say in a sad voice.
I sat up and went for my boots, I turned them over, a spider jumped out from one of them and ran for the wall. I put on my boots and tipped toed to the door. The shadows of my mother and father was slowly fading away. After about a minute I opened my door and made my way out to the end of the hall way. The door of my parents was closed, they must have gone to bed. I made my way toward the stairway...
“Where are you going?” I heard my mothers stern voice from behind me. Damn I thought to myself.
“Nowhere, I mean for a drink of water.” I stuttered.
“Mmhhhmm, go back to bed young lady.”
“Fine.” I heard myself say.
I started stomping back to my bedroom when a burning sensation began in my chest. I fell to my knees holding my chest. I opened my mouth to scream but nothing would come out.
“Dawn, its happening, its happening,” I could hear my mother scream to my father in a faint distance.
I could see a light at the tip of my hand beginning to grow and I tried shaking it off. Nothing seemed to happen and I was freaking out. I turned towards my parents and they were smiling at me. Why weren't they helping me? Everything seemed to begin to be absorbed by some foggy substance and I felt like I couldn't breath, and suddenly everything went black.
“Avery! Wake up. This is the third time this week you have fallen asleep in my class, I will not tolerate it any longer, to the principles office. Now!”
“Geez Ms. Frey you scared me.”
“Now Avery!” She screamed while her eyes nearly popped out from behind her huge glasses.
“Yeah...Yeah on my way.”
I began walking out of the classroom when all of a sudden something hit me. I turned around, I could see a paper ball at my feet and three jocks laughing from the corner of my eye. Don't kill them Avery I said to myself while clenching my wand from my messenger bag. It is nearly Halloween...you can get revenge then.
“So Avery, why do you have the necessity to be falling asleep in Ms. Frey's class?” Principle Gran said, “Have you not been getting sleep lately?”
Did she really want to know? No, she was just doing her job by acting as if she cared, so I gave her the truth...just to mess with her.
“I was learning how to turn a cat on fire,” I said with a grin. I could see her sit up on her chair and clench her pencil.
“That’s funny Avery, I will be calling your mother.”
“That's okay Principle Gran, she was teaching me,” I said as I got up from the chair in her office. I looked back as I turned the door knob of her office, could see her dialing with a shaky hand. I smirked then realized it was lunch time.
