I stood up and smiled. "My name is Bathsheba. I love to bake and put together outfits. My favourite colour is turquoise and I'd love to make new friends!"
"Very nice Bathsheba!" Mrs. Tillet said "That's also my favourite colour"
After I sat down, Hort looked at me, smirked, then turned around. What was his deal? I could feel the chills all over.
"Nice introduction" Penelope said.
"Thanks" I replied "Yours was cool too"In Penelope's introduction she had said she loved dark and gloomy themes and runs a news blog for the school.
"I never knew you ran the school's news blog"
"Well it's mostly the gossip section, but it a fun hobby" she smiled. "Do you wanna help with it?"
"Sure, Sounds like fun!"
"Okay let's meet after school" she replied. After we exchanged numbers the teacher called for attention.
"Okay now that everybody introduced themselves let's play a game!"
The game we played was a word game. Basically, you had to start a word, then you have to say another that starts with the last letter of the last word. So for example, if someone said glitter you could say rain. If you made a mistake or repeated an answer, you would sit down.
The game went on for a while, soon everybody was sitting down except for Hort and Benjamin. This would be interesting.
"Capricious!" Hort said
"Sandwich" Benjamin retorted
"Harbinger!"
"Reggae"
It's must of made Hort pretty angry that Benjamin was keeping up with him, especially since he said all his answers so easily. You could definitely see Hort struggling. I was voting for Benjamin's victory, mostly because Hort was my mortal enemy.
"Catacomb!" Hort retorted
"Bethany!" Benjamin said. Hort looked around the room frantically.
"Sorry Hort, you took too long. Benjamin is the winner!" Mrs. Tillet said
"Wow, isn't Benjamin so cute?" said a girl I behind me, I believe was Casandra.
"Yeah, he's so smart" said the girl next to her.
" I think Benjamin is getting popular" Penelope said "He has a fan club for sure"
"Yeah no wonder" I replied. The bell rang. "See you later!"
"Yeah!" Penelope replied.
Now what's my next class? I asked myself. I took a look at my schedule. Augh my worst subject, Math. This is going to be a long day...
