Quinn looked outside of the bedroom window.
"What a great day to go out with a couple of friends" she thought out loud.
She silently went downstairs, careful not to wake the baby. "Oh right" she thought. "The baby". She grinned as she half-skipped half-walked to the garage where, no surprise, Vincent was there.
"Vincent, can you watch the baby tonight?" She asked. "I'm going out with a couple of friends."
"Um... yeah sure." He answered with his hand shooing dismissively.
Once again, the grin crawled across her face.
"Great" she quickly replied. "I'll go get the baby."
As if she was racing someone, she ran upstairs to get the baby. When she arrived, she picked up Lisle who was then awake.
"I'm sorry Baby" she whispered in her little boy's ear.
She held him as if it were the last time she was going to see him. With her arms wrapping him like a blanket, she carried him into the garage.
Vincent heard nothing but the sound of his adored car humming. Vincent thought not of Lisle at this time, but the car.
Quinn kissed her baby on the head, held him for a bit, and finally said, "take care of the baby."
"Yeah right" he responded, obviously in his own world.
When Quinn came back, about 11 hours had passed. She waved goodbye to her friends as they honked and pulled out of the driveway. She walked in through the front door.
"Hun?"
The only voice she heard was her voice bouncing off the walls in the foyer. This worried her.
"Hello?" She questioned.
Then it hit her. Quinn ran to the garage, sweating bullets as she went. She opened the door. There standing, with his toolbox at his side, was Vincent. She looked in the corner where she saw her precious baby boy on the ground beneath his chair. Tears immediately rolled down her face and she went over to check his pulse.
Nothing.
"UNACCEPTABLE" she hollered.
Vincent looked up. "What is?"
"You are." She picked up her baby and went inside.
