Jealous -Ne Yo

I stood in my seat, I grabbed Clary’s hand whom was right next to me. I turned around and looked back at Terry who was two rows behind me. We were finally graduating. Terry gave me a reassuring smile. I began walking following those that were ahead of me with Clary in tow behind me. I could not believe that I was graduating. I had been in school for 14 years of my life and here I was reaching the end. Of course there was more schooling ahead with college, but I was just so happy to be at this point.

“Brielle Clark,” I walked across the stage as people clapped and grabbed my diploma from the principal. I posed for the two cameras at the end and then made my way off stage. I was finally a graduate of Lindsey High School and after today there would be no reason for me to look back.

I met up with Terry after graduation and he pulled me against him placing a sloppy kiss on my mouth and ruining my lipstick.

“Terry,” I scolded.

“Sorry baby, that’s how much I love you.” He said laughing. I couldn’t do anything but laugh at him as I fixed my makeup. I wiped off his mouth removing the evidence away that said he had just kissed me.

We walked towards Mr. C. “Congratulations, you two.” He said handing me and Terry a huge gift bag.

“Thanks Mr. C. I told you not to get me anything.”  I reminded him.

“You tell me a lot of things Brielle.” He said as he pulled me in a hug.

“Thanks,” I watched as he pulled Terry into a hug.

“I’m so proud of you son.”

“Don’t cry on me Dad,”

“Way to ruin it Terry,” He replied with laughter.

“You’ve never been a sap guy, don’t start on me now.” His dad just laughed as we began walking to the exit. My parents had not come to my graduation and honestly I wasn’t surprised. They had probably forgot today was even the day of my graduation even though I had taped it to the refrigerator with a magnet. I was over trying to get them to accept me. My relationship with them was broken and beyond fixable at least at this point of my life. Although my parents weren’t here I still had family. I could feel my brother’s presence around as I walked on the stage. It was hard to explain but I knew that he was proud of me and I knew that he didn’t blame me for what happened. I missed him so much and I wished that he could have been here. If he was still here things wouldn’t have gotten so bad, but everything happens for a reason and I had to learn to accept that.

“Where do you want to eat at?” His dad asked interrupting my thoughts.

“Wherever you want to take us.” Terry replied.

I leaned back in my seat. Full from the meal I had just consumed. I felt like I was about the burst and I just wanted to lay down, but I definitely wouldn’t get around to it with the plans we had tonight.
