"Great, just great!" I exclaimed as rain started pouring from the sky as I walked home on the sidewalk.
"Are you ok Mari?" Tikki asked as she poked her head from my purse.
"Did you hear me? I'm doing great!" I said sarcastically. "First, I have to leave all of my friends and basically my whole life behind for Paris, then he abandoned me! He was supposed to go to this dance with me, but he never showed up!" I said, tears streaming down my face.
"And now it's raining and I have no umbrella or jacket!" I said as I adjusted my dress. "I don't want to leave!" I cried out just as I reached our small house which had a for sale sign in the yard. I opened the door and Tikki hid in my purse again. There were boxes stacked up everywhere and at the basically empty kitchen table sat my parents and my bestie. I walked over and sat down in the empty seat at the table.
"Mari? What's wrong?" My bestie, Shawni asked.
I tried not to cry, but failed miserably.
"Nick stood me up, I'm soaking wet, and I don't want to leave to Paris!" I cried as my bestie wrapped her arms around me in a tight hug.
"Marinette, it will be so much better in Paris!" My mom tried to cheer me up.
"For your buisness! But what about me? Can I bring Shawni with me?" I asked. My parents stared at me for a long moment.
"I'm going to bed, if Nick comes by to apologize or anything, tell him to go to hell" I said before running upstairs to my room. Without even changing I hoped into my bed, closed my eyes, and eventually fell asleep.
