I taped my fingers along my desk over and over with one hand while spinning a lead pencil in the fingers of my other.
My light blue eyes stared down intently at a photo disguised by a school book.
The picture was of me and my friends Gold, Kyran and Alec at the beach. Gold was sitting, her body facing the sea, but smiling over her shoulder facing the camera. Her ombré hair blowing gently in the sea breeze. Her glittering, almost unnatural golden eyes shining with joy.
Kyran sat next to her, his dark blue eyes peeking out from under his hair. He and I have the same colour hair, blue-black and shiny. The faint glow of a blush spreading from one cheek, over his nose to the other.
He still obviously likes Gold. It's amazing she's still oblivious. He's a lot better now than he was when we first started hanging out with him. He used to stutter and hyperventilate and turn the colour of a tomato when she smiled or stood close to him. Alec and I would stand aside and giggle at him.
I looked over to where Alec was standing in the photo. He stood to the opposite of Kyran and Gold, his arms folded across his chest, smiling at the camera.
His red hair also being pushed aside by the wind. His hair wasn't red like a natural orange some people are born with. It's a deep crimson red like his eyes.
I noticed that his younger sister Ally has the same eyes. But her hair isn't red like his, it's a raven black. I felt a warm feeling rising to my own cheeks. I can't laugh at Kyran for being a bit scared to talk to Gold. I can Barely talk to Alec alone.
I have a crush of my own.
My eyes float over to myself in the photo. My cheeks look sunkissed. I wished for the millionth time I hadn't been so forgetful. I had put sunscreen on my arms, legs, back and stomach, but completely forgot my face.
Like an idiot.
I sighed and leaned back in my chair, looking at the back of Evan's cyan hair.
"Psssst!"
I whipped around and saw Gold staring at me. Gold pointed at my open bag on the floor to a can of sour cream and onions Pringles.
She made a face like: "you gunna eat those?"
Then she made the: "you want to give those to me" face.
I smiled and nodded. A clear indication that Gold could have the Pringles.
Gold grinned and turned her attention back to her book. Or it would appear that way to anyone who didn't know her.
I knew she was doing the same thing as me, but Gold was reading a magazine, not staring at a photo like her weird blue haired friend.

I sat across from Gold, Kyran and Evan at lunch.
"Evan, how's your music coming along?" I asked.
Evan grinned and popped a piece of sushi in his mouth. His green eyes shined.
"Great," he said after swallowing. "I have a performance at the school talent show."
"That's great Evan!" Gold exclaimed.
"Yeah man." Kyran agreed.
"I'm performing a song I wrote," Evan gave a cute smirk "so excited, you guys gunna be there?"
While Gold and Kyran talked with Evan I looked over the tables and found Alec sitting across from my friend, Yandere. They were having a conversation. I could tell from their mouths moving. Alec appeared stressed, he kept looking over his shoulder and frowning. Yandere was keeping calm and levelheaded, but every now and again she too would look over her shoulder. Papers were sprawled out between them and I just assumed they were studying together and maybe Alec was finding it difficult. Suddenly Alec planted both his hands on his temples and propped his elbows on the table. Yandere glared at him and waved a piece of paper in front of him. Alec looked up from the table and took the paper from her hands. After studying it he glared at Yandere with dewy eyes. He said something to her that was, again, drowned out by the other students.
But I could have sworn it was something along the lines of:
"You wouldn't."
Yandere narrowed he eyes and said something to him that looked to me like:
"I would."
Alec slammed his hand on the table  and stormed out of the cafeteria. Yandere's expression remained unchanged but her hard grey eyes followed him out of the cafeteria. She flicked her black ponytail over her shoulder and puffed a stray hair out of her face. A blonde girl with grey eyes sat next to her on her phone, Celeste, Yandere's new friend. Celeste appeared to have absolutely no interest in Alec's outburst. She looked downright bored. Yandere started cleaning up the papers. As she packed up, a brunette girl walked past and managed to glimpse the papers. She looked at Yandere with a mix of fear and confusion, and speed walked away. Yandere continued packing up but snapped a photo of the girl before she was out of sight.
I looked back to my lunch and rejoined the conversation Gold, Kyran and Evan were having.
