Dear Diary,

After leaving Birkenau and entering Auschwitz, I was summoned to go to the dentist.

After learning his true intention of removing my golden crown of teeth, I pleaded a false story of my ill health.

After following his instructions to come back in a few days, I pleaded again and he granted me further delay.

When I returned again, his office was shut down because he was using the prisoner's golden teeth for his benefit and was hanged.

I was glad that my crown was safe because I could use it to buy food and all I cared about was my daily soup and bread.

Later, Franek, the foreman, noticed my crown and he suddenly grew brutish after I denied his offers.

Unfortunately, Franek knew my weak spot and started to attack my father. After two weeks, I finally crumbled after enduring my father's pain and gave him my crown even though my father said not to.

I couldn't let my father endure his sufferings. Franek became more caring and nice as before and sometimes gave me an extra bowl of soup.

This did not last long as all the Poles were transferred to another camp two weeks later. I had given up my crown for nothing.
