"Uwaaa! I can't wait! I hope I win!!!" yelled Teto, jumping up and down with excitement. Haku tried to calm her down. "Hey, Teto! Calm down! You won't be the only contestant, so you'll have to work hard to win - it's not easy!" she said. Teto stopped. She tore the wrapper off her chocolate bar and took a bite. It tasted heavenly!
"People must have had LOTS of practice to make chocolate this good! So I must have lots of practice too! I'll be great!" she squealed. Haku grinned as Teto rushed out of the shop as fast as she could. A few minutes later, Teto was in her room with a microphone just below her chin. She cleared her throat and began to sing 'Fear Garden' again.
"Uso yo uso zenbu uso...tabun, fufufu!" Teto sang the last line and fell onto her bed. She was exhausted!
"I hope it turned out well!" she breathed. She had recorded it on her cellphone. Teto clicked 'Play' and listened carefully.
"Oh my goodness! It's horrible! I made so many mistakes!" she wailed. This was harder than she thought. She spent four whole hours singing and recording, singing and recording, singing and recording. By the time Teto had started singing 'Fear Garden' for the hundredth time, Neru rang the doorbell. Yesterday, her and Teto had arranged to meet up at Teto's house for some tea and biscuits and a nice long chat. Neru rang the doorbell five times, and then found that the door was unlocked. She walked in and went up to Teto's room. She overheard Teto singing her heart out.
"She sounds...amazing!" whispered Neru. When Teto had finished singing, Neru decided to go and talk to her. Teto was shocked to see Neru - she had forgotten all about the tea and biscuits!
"I'm sorry, Neru! I didn't buy any biscuits!" cried Teto, her face turning red. Neru smiled and patted her head.
"Nevermind about that! Your singing was outstanding!" she laughed. Teto was bursting with joy. Her voice was finally ready for the tryouts!
