"Alright ladies." Alan leaned forward and met each of their eyes before continuing, "You understand how careful you have to be if I allow you to go to the mall right? We don't need any more incidents, okay?"

The room was filled with answers including: "We understand," "Of course," "Yes sir," "Yes Alan."

Jee looked down at her hands and nodded. Alan's eyes had been resting on her shrinking form when he let the last sentence out into the open.

Yeunnie noticed Jee's discomfort and rested a hand on her arm. Jee looked up at her and smiled before looking back down.

"That's all, you can go after you finish getting everything ready for tomorrow." Alan leaned back in his rocking chair, waved us away and picked up his cup of coffee.

The girls shuffled off in small groups and pairs.

Yeunnie followed Jee to the small storage shed. Jee collected the rescue tubes in her arms and Yeunnie grabbed the bucket of whistles.

"You know Alan just wants you to stay safe, he doesn't mean to single you out." Yeunnie said as she followed Jee out of the shed.

Jee looked over her shoulder and said "I know he doesn't. Come on let's hurry up and get these to the stations so we can leave."

Jee and Yeunnie distributed the tubes and whistles to each lifeguard stand and station on the beach.

Mei, Kyle and Minnie walked down the docks to blow up the inflatable rafts.

"Do you think we will be able to stop at the book store?" Minnie asked.

"As long as we can try that new restaurant in the food court," Kyle interjected.

"I'm sure we'll have time for both," Mei said as they reached the docks.

Kyle and Minnie nodded in agreement with her.

Mei plugged in a pump, and Minnie and Kyle grabbed two big boxes of blow up rafts. The low hum of the pump was accompanied by three quiet voices.

As they finished blowing up one raft, they grew more confident and launched into a strong chorus.

Kyle looked up from the pump to see the others' faces and burst into laughter. At the sound of Kyle laughing, Mei and Minnie fell into a fit of giggles too.

Meanwhile, Brightanne and Sei were in a garden at a side of the beach house. They collected two ripe watermelons, some grapes and other fruits and vegetables they could use in different dishes.

"Are we going to make sandwiches or burgers? Either way, we would have to make them tomorrow." Sei's hands pulled weeds away from their plants as she talked.

"I think we should make sandwiches! We can use the lettuce and tomatoes on them!" Brightanne's eyes gleamed.

"Sounds good."

Brightanne spotted the gardening hose at the edge of the garden and acted on an impulse. She grabbed the hose and sprayed Sei with the freezing water.

She jumped up and sprinted away screeching. Brightanne collapsed onto the ground in a fit of laughter and kicked her legs in the air.

Sei ran to the garden shed and hid behind it. When she heard Brightanne laughing she poked her head out from behind it and glared at her.

Sei grabbed a handful of mud and chucked it at Brightanne's head.

She spotted the ball of mud flying towards her too late and it splattered all over her face.

Sei burst out laughing at the disgusted look on Brightanne's face. Brightanne stood in silence for moment and then burst out laughing too.

Min and Lannie carried boxes towards a patch of grass just off of the sand and not too far away from the house. The boxes contained different lawn games. There were bocce balls, horse shoes, cornhole, ladder toss, and beach volleyball.

Min set down her box. "How do you think tomorrow will go?"

Lannie looked up from her open box. "No different than any other day, its just another job. " She looked back down at the box's contents. "Anyway, should we set the games up in a big circle or in line?"

Min was unable to stop the smile that slipped onto her face at her friend's obsession with the look and set up of everything. That would be what she should have expected when she befriended an artist. "A line would probably be more practical."

"That's true, let's make it a circle." She nodded decisively.

Min chuckled. "Okay, just don't change your mind after we're halfway done this time."

"Fine." A smile appeared on her lips.

The beach was filled with the sound of laughter and singing.

I'm sorry I haven't been updating. There aren't really any excuses but all updates will probably be slow, hopefully not as slow as this one though.

This was shorter than I wanted but I'm going to start getting into things soon! Hope you are all still interested!
