Chapter Five: Searchin' and Huntin'

*Near Blackwater Ridge*

"I'm not trying to be rude here, Haley. I'm just saying that this trip could be dangerous and I just think that Ben is too young to tag along." Roy get his shotgun out of his trunk an turns to Haley.

"Roy please, Ben and I are family and we need to find Tommy, and that's it." Haley glares at Roy.

Then all of a sudden Haley hears this low rumbling engine sound. She looks up and sees the two "rangers" driving up the hill.

Dean and Sam park and open their doors.

"You guys have room for two more?" Dean asked, and then smiled.

"Wait, you want to come with us?" Haley asked surprised.

"Who are these guys?" Roy asked.

"Apparently, this is all the park service could muster up for search and rescue." Haley folded her arms.

"You're rangers?" Roy said surprisingly.

"That's right," Dean said with a head nod.

"And you're hiking out in biker boots and jeans?" Haley asked suspiciously towards Dean.

Dean looks down at his wardrobe and states, "Oh sweetheart, I don't do shorts."

Dean just looked at Haley once then walked away.

"You think this is a joke? It's dangerous backcountry and Tommy could be hurt." Roy warns Dean and Sam.

*Inside a cave*

The sound of shaking chains wakes up Tommy from unconsciousness. Tommy sees that him and Gary are hung up in a damp cave. Then he heard footsteps from deeper in the cave, coming closer. He sees the creature, with it's long figure and skinny body, go towards Gary and eats him alive. Tommy hung there hearing the sounds of Gary being torn apart.

*Somewhere in the wilderness*

The brothers, Haley and Ben, and Roy all hike in the woods, searching for Tommy. Dean catches up to Roy and said," I heard you've done a little hunting."

Roy answered with sass," Yeah, more than a little."

Dean rolls his eyes and continually asks more questions.

"Uh-huh, what kind of furry critters do you hunt?" Dean scans their surroundings.

Roy answered without looking back at Dean," Mostly bucks or bear."

Dean chuckles in silence.

"Tell me, uh, Bambi or Yogi ever hunt you back?"

Roy finally looks at Dean in astonishment. Then Roy suddenly pulls at Dean's shirt and looks at him. Dean looks back at Roy with curiosity of what he was going to say next. "What are you doing Roy?"

Roy sighs and picks up a stick and stabs into the ground, where a bear trap snaps the stick in half. Roy looks over at Dean and smiles," You should watch where you're stepping, ranger." Dean nods his head in embarrassment.

They walk on and Haley starts getting curious about Dean's and Sam's identity. She walks up to Dean from behind and says," You didn't pack any provisions, you guys are carrying a duffle bag, you're not rangers. So, who the hell are you?" She pulls Dean towards her, so she can see him.

Dean looks over at Sam with nervousness, and then quickly decides with him that it is ok to tell the truth.

"Sam and I are brothers and we're looking for our father. He might be here, we don't know. I just figured you and me were in the same boat." Dean said calmly.

Haley looked at the ground and finally responds. " Why didn't you just tell me that from the start?

"Well, uh, I'm telling you now," he said with a reassuring look," besides that's probably the most honest I've been with a woman. He looked at up as like he was checking something and added," Ever."

"So are we ok?" Dean asked Haley.

She sighed and answered," Yeah, we're ok."

Dean, again looked at her with a confused and funny look. "What do you mean we didn't pack provisions? He holds up a large bag of peanut M&M's and looks into the bag and pops one in his mouth. His eyebrows raised and he smiled as he walked away.

Finally the group arrived at Blackwater Ridge.

Sam asks Roy what the coordinates are, and they matched the ones their father gave them in the journal.

"You hear that?" Dean asked Sam.

"Yeah," Sam stares off in the distance," not even crickets."

Dean looks around and nods in agreement.

Roy tells the group that he was going to look around, but Sam told him sternly that it was too dangerous to go out there alone. Roy ignored Sam's warning and left them.

"Alright, everybody stays together, ok? Let's go." Dean said and then lead the group the same way Roy did.

The group searched for Tommy for a long time until Roy yelled for Haley.

"Haley, come here!"

Haley runs towards the voice, and the others run after her. She comes to a place where it was destroyed. The tents were ripped and there was supplies everywhere. More important the tents were stained with blood. The group walks around the campsite, trying to look for the others and Tommy.

"Tommy? Tommy?!" screamed Haley.

Sam rushes over to Haley to tell her to be quiet.

"Why?" Haley said in confusion.

"Something could still be out there." Sam replied in a hushed tone.

Then all of a sudden Dean called for Sam. Sam runs over to Dean, who was crouching to the ground.

"The bodies were dragged from the campsite, but here, the tracks just vanish," Dean informed Sam," It's weird, but I'll tell ya, it's no skin walker or black dog." Then Dean gets up and walks back to the campsite.

At the campsite, Haley finds Tommy's camcorder cracked with blood on it. She starts crying, but then Dean comes over to give her hope about Tommy.

"HELP!" A voice rang through the woods, and everybody ran towards it. They stop and see nothing of any living thing.

Sam looked around nervously and ordered the group back to camp. They all return back to the campsite. When they did return they found out that their packs were stolen from them.

"What the hell is going on?" Haley said agitated.

"It's smart. It wants us to be cut off, so then we can't call for help." Sam informed the group.

"You mean someone. Someone out there stole our gear." Corrected Roy.

Sam walks up to Dean and whispers," I need to speak with you, in private."

Hey guys! Gwen here! I'm so sorry that I haven't updated in a while. Really am! So, I don't have school tomorrow! Yipee! This is the last chapter I will put up for tonight! (Maybe.) So, enjoy the chapter!
