Chapter 3: Can I Ask You Something?

         She closed her eyes as he pulled her in for a hug. He'd hugged her before, but this felt different. When he had done it before it had been, friendly side hugs. But now it was him holding her like you would if you hadn't seen someone in years and just saw them again. Not wanting to let them go ever again. She hugged him back.

         "I was just being stupid." She tells him and laughs.

         "Can I ask you something else?" He asks carefully, not know how she'd respond.

         "Sure." She looked at him awkwardly. He was still hugging her.

         "Before you ran you said you liked someone." 'Crap!' She thought. "Who was it?"
"Mike...You'd hate me if I told you." She says hugging him again.

         "Try me." He said smiling.

        "I'd try to change the subject but you're too smart to fall for it." She said half hoping he'd forget half telling the truth.

         "You'd think I'd be smart enough to figure it out." They laugh.

         "Well?" He asks waiting for her answer. She looks at him again.

          "I....it's....its y-" She started but was cut of by her friends running towards them.

          "Candy! Mike! We've been looking every where for you!" Rainbow yells.

          "What were you guys doing?" Jacky asks with mock surprise.

          "Yeah Candy. What?" Rainbow asks trying not to smile, but fails. Sensing the embarrassment Mike let's go of Candy.

          "She was sad, so I was trying to cheer her up." He says nonchalantly. She admired how calm he was while she on the other hand was freaking out.

          "We're about to start the show so we should get going." Jacky says to them.

         "Right. See you Candy." Mike says walking away. "Bye Rainbow. Bye Jacky." He jogs away with embarrassment and and a smile. The two girls look at Candy with their arms crossed and huge smiles.

          "What?" She asks defensively "Let's go." She starts to storms off but stops at Rainbow's words.

         "Mandy has begun."

         'Oh god, you have a ship name.' She thought as she continued her way to the stage away for the two snickering girls behind her.
