Cara sat in the Employees Only room for a while. She heard a ding from the door. She bet it was that man. She heard a deep voice, "Good morning!" It was definitely not the man. Then the guy, who's name was apparently Clark by his name tag, came in the Employees Only room. Clark said, "Laura! We haven't seen you in forever!" She smiled and said, "I was in Minnesota." Clark nodded and then moved to the men's locker room. Cara speed-walked out of the Employees Only room and into the tiny Dollar store. The woman yelled, "Bye, Laura!" Laura smiled and went into the streets. She had no idea what Laura's story is, but everyone seemed to love her. Then she heard two women gossiping, "Yeah, she started dating her drug-dealer and apparently he's a woman beater." This woman was so stupid. Why would you date your drug-dealer? Why does she even have a drug-dealer?! Then the other woman answered that question for her, "Apparently, it all went downhill when Nick died. She stayed in her apartment for a year before she went out, and when she did, she started doing drugs." She didn't know what Nick was to Laura, but Cara was guessing that was her former lover. She walked slowly, with her head down, to the apartment she stayed at. She was truly scared of what would happen, but what else could she do? She needed to save this woman and be alive again. She opened the door. The smell of smoke suddenly hit her. She looked down. Great. She had been walking around with just a shirt on. But that was the least of her problems. She was going to kill someone today. The man ran downstairs and said, "Little BITCH! Close the damn door." He ran at her and punched her in the face. Before he could cause any more damage, Cara took the knife out and stuck it in his stomach. He made the "O" face and fell down. Cara called 911, not wanting to make Laura look like a murderer. 911 answered very quickly. The operator said, "911, what's your emergency?" Cara started fake-sounding worried. She said, "I just stuck a knife in my husband in self-defense. I don't know if he's dead." She knew he was dead. "He has been abusing me for the past three years and I grabbed a knife from a store and brought it home because I ran away and had to go back to get my money. When I came back, he came at me saying he was going to kill me. He punched me once and after that, I stuck it in his stomach." The 911 operator paused and said, "Okay, just repeat that to the police when they come." Cara stood there, not knowing what a worried wife does when she accidentally kills her husband in self-defense. And why wasn't she turning back?
