-Niall's POV-
*ONE YEAR AGO*
"Hannah, will you please stop jumping on daddy," Carter said as she walked into the bedroom with her pregnant belly. He sweats didn't quiet fit her right and her shirt was a little small, but for some odd reason, she still look as beautiful as ever. "He's had a long day at work."
"Daddy," Hannah said softly, cuddling up to me. She had finally calmed down from jumping on me. Thank you Carter. "Where do you work?"
"Me?" I asked, running my hands through my hair. "Daddy's a singer. Which means I go into a recording studio and sing into a microphone. Then it comes out a little later as a CD for people all over the world to listen to." She looked very confused about my explanation.
"So your voice is in a disk? Can you ever get it back?" I just chuckled, pulling her into a hug.
"Han, my voice doesn't leave. I record it. Like... I can record my voice so I can remember things or if I'm not here and you want to hear my voice, you can listen to that CD or the teddy bear mommy and I got you when you were born." She looked amazed. Like she had just discovered that magic is actually real.
"What do you do mommy?" She looked at Carter as my wife smiled at us with amusement.
"Oh I'm not as cool as daddy here," she chuckled. "You see these?" She pointed to the ink tattoos on her skin. "I draw things like this on people. Arms, lets, backs, anything." Hanna's face cringed.
"Wouldn't that hurt?"
"Yes. Very much," Carter replied.
"Then why'd you get them!? Are you okay?" We both just started to laugh, making Hanna laugh too.
"Yes honey. I'm fine." Hanna sat back down on my lap, cuddling into my arms.
"I like daddy's job. I want to be like him. Singing for people. Like Uncle Harry!"
"Yes sweetie, just like Uncle Harry."
*PRESENT TIME*
I can't believe that was a whole year ago. When Carter was pregnant with Luke. I remembered she named Luke after her best friend on our second third tour. Luke Hemmings. He was such a lad. Him and Carter were close in age and they had a lot in common. Both awkward, love food. Seriously those two were probably separated at birth. She was so happy. Being a teenager. For those several years, she actually had a normal teenage life. And once Hanna came along, she got to finally live that mother life. Now...
That's in danger.
I don't want to think about it. Think about the possibilities of her dead or hurt. Courtney still won't answer our calls. I'm utterly worried. Shaking, sweats. My wife.. The love of my life. The mother of our children.. She could be gone. No where to be seen our heard of again. My heart breaks more and more every time I think of it.
Harry placed his hand on my shoulder, giving it a squeeze. I can't imagine how he feels right now. This is his sister. The one he promised to protect no matter what. The one who said he wouldn't give up on her no matter what happens. I bet he's feeling horrible just sitting here in this van.
Peru. That's where we are.
"Why the hell is it in Peru?" Louis asked, looking forwards as we drove through the desert sands.
"Testing centers. No one checks out in the middle of a country at war," Jo replied like it was a casual thing to talk about.
"What do you mean testing?" I asked, coming closer to the front of the van.
