HUNTERS POV

I get about half way home and decide that there is nothing for me to do there. So I turn my car around and head for the Country Music Fest downtown. Once I get there, I hear my favorite song come on. "Baby you a song, you make me wanna roll my windows down and cruise!" I loved that song. That song just made me wish someone would notice my voice. I will be famous oneday. I will be. I kept telling myself these things to keep me confident. And frankly, it was working. Everyone's dancing. Usually, that would be okay for me, but not today. Not today because all I saw was couples. Couples slow dancing. But faster and with more power. Really? Does everywhere I go today have to show me how everybody has somebody but me! I mean, seriously. "Alright ladies and gentlemen. It's time for our 'Talent Search' one lucky boy and one lucky girl will come up here to sing a song for us!" My face lit up after I heard the announcer say this. I have to be chosen. I ran up to the front of the crowd. "Who wants to?" The announcer called into the microphone. I was too shy to raise my hand, but lucky for me, he picked me. "You young son. Why don't you come on up and sing for us?" The announcer said. I started up the steps as he chose the girl. "You. How about you come up and sing with this fine young gentleman." I look over and see a beautiful girl. She was looking straight at me. Using what I called 'The Jessica Wilson Stare.' She had those same gorgeous blue-gray eyes. "What do you youngin's wanna sing tonight?" He asked. "Cruise. By Florida Georgia Line." I said. "Alright." He replied. I chose "Cruise" because it was my favorite song and FGL was here. If they heard me sing their song, they might help me get into the business. After the song was over, I walked her off stage. "Hi. I'm Victoria Hilton." She said. "Hello, Victoria. I'm Hunter Hayes." I replied. "Where are you from, Hunter?" She asked. "Louisiana. What about you? Where are you from?" I asked. "Texas." "Oh wow! That's so cool!" I exclaimed. "Thanks. So, do you want to go grab some dinner?" Yes. Yes. YES. "Sure. Where do you want to go?" I asked. "How about Roadies?" She suggested. "Sure! I love that place!" I told her. We talked for what seemed like hours. But of course, it was time to leave. We exchanged numbers and said we'd keep in touch. I suggested we go back to my place, but she said she was heading back to Texas and she only flew out here for the festival. "Bye, Victoria. It was wonderful meeting you. Hope I see you again some day." I said with tears almost rolling down my cheeks. "Bye, Hunter." She said with tears actually rolling down her cheeks as she got in the car. She's gone. That's it. Just like Jessica.
