So, here's another chapter. It's amazing I'm remembering to upload, really. There might be errors, haven't really proofread either, but this is the chapter where it starts to get interesting. :)
I hum a little to myself, walking down the hall in the middle of class. It’s one of the two I don’t have with the boys, so I take my time looking for a bathroom, wondering how long I can get away with not going back. I have my bag with me, I could skip, but that wouldn’t be in my best interest, not on my first day of classes. Third class and I’m already considering walking out. It would be so easy, there aren’t even any guards at the entrance…
My ears seem to perk up as I freeze, taking in the sounds of a scuffle to my left. My head whips around on its own and I listen hard, grunts and low thuds letting me know that there is, indeed, a fight going on. Another second and I make out the sound of footsteps behind me, maybe a few doors down.
Well, I could keep walking or I could go see what’s going on and try to warn them.
Just in case, I start down the hall to my left, glancing behind me before I disappear into the darker corridor. This might be one of my brothers and I can’t just let them be caught. It would be unfair and more than a little stupid to let them be in trouble on our first day. Not only that, but Ro would go after them with a machete if he found out they were fighting in school.
I sneak around another corner, just out of view, and stare.
In front of me, douche bag blonde guy is fighting against a guy I vaguely recognize, which is never good. I don’t know him from school, I know him because I’ve seen him at the fights we go to. A name doesn’t come to mind, but I do know that he’s a champion fighter and blonde douche bag doesn’t stand a chance.
Blonde is holding his hands in front of his face clumsily, while the nameless one moves with ease, darting a fist so that it slams into Blonde’s side, right above his kidney. Another groan and I hear footsteps again.
I don’t want to help Blondie, but the other one…
I don’t think as I move, darting around the corner and swooping in before either knows what happened, Blondie still too dazed and the other one too surprised as I duck between them, grabbing one of the nameless one’s hands in mine and starting to drag him down the hall. Without the element of surprise, I doubt I would be able to move him if I didn’t have the element of surprise on my side, but I just start running, not bothering to look back as I pull him around another corner, out of view of the Blonde and the person who was walking down the hall with the slow click of high heels.
I don’t say anything as I duck into an unused female bathroom, dragging Nameless with me and pushing him deeper into its depths, turning to close and lock the door behind me.
“What the hell, little girl?” The soft melody of his voice isn’t as familiar as his face, which makes me wonder if I’ve ever heard him talk before. I’m usually hidden in a dark corner somewhere, I don’t venture out to cheer on my brothers, so I probably haven’t seen him up close before, which is probably why I don’t recognize him. Not only that, but he wasn’t seriously fighting before, so I got no clues from his stance or his attacking technique.
“Teacher was coming.” I answer easily, spinning to face the Nameless man. My bag thumps against my hip and I’m surprised to find that his lip is cut and bleeding, his dark eyes narrowed on me as I start towards the beautiful porcelain sinks.
