PROLOGUE
Her light hands grasped the handles of the now empty cabinet and flung it open.
Her bright [e/c] eyes searched for any food left, finding there were none inside [y/n] sighed in frustration and ran her hands through her [l/s] [h/c] tangled hair.
She had been scavenging for food, for what seemed and felt like ages but really was only a couple hours. Deciding there wasn't going to be food on the house she decided she would loot on the house next door.
[y/n] headed over to the door and twisted the door knob quietly revealing the hot Georgia heat burning through her skin. She peeked her head outside to see if there were any 'Walkers' as she decided to name the dead corpses, spotting one on the pathway from getting towards the house, she grabbed her knife that was tucked on her jean pocket and headed towards the corpse quickly before the walker would caught her scent.
With a quick swift move she ran towards the walking corpse and pierced her dagger through its rotten skull. Wiping her dagger full of the corpse's blood, she headed her way towards the house next door.
She learned a lot from the walkers, the first thing they would notice on you was they could recognize your scent, since they smelled death and you smelled well, alive, you could say it was a big difference. They also could hear you, just by pulling the trigger of your gun you've got yourself a herd walking towards your way and you could only kill them by killing the brain.
With such luck [y/n] opened the unlocked door, and met a dark room filled with dust floating in midst air. Checking if there weren't any walkers around she headed towards the kitchen and opened the cabinets revealing for what all this time she had been looking for, food. Hastily she grabbed anything she could carry on her backpack. All the food she found would be good enough for a week if she used it wisely, turning towards the door she headed off towards her house.
The last thing before the world was tearing apart she heard that Atlanta had a refugee center that it was well protected.[y/n] was thinking lately to head off to Atlanta or not, there will be food, protection from the horrible monsters out there and people.
Oh how [y/n] hasn't seen a single soul around here. If only she had a ride to go there. Walking would be dangerous [y/n] would attract walkers along the way and chase after her beating heart. A vehicle would be much faster to travel and to outrun them.
The walkers around her were feeding on a dead corpse on the ground too busy not minding [y/n] as she had plenty of time to think by herself along the way to her house.
Perhaps her father was there too, he was the reason how she got her good skills from killing the walking corpses, her father worked as a Major General in the army, he taught her from handling guns from shooting an arrow from a bow. She wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him, she wouldn't be even living right now, instead being a corpse. He was there with her through thick and thin instead of her mother.
When her father would leave for several months her mother would do all the horrible things you couldn't imagine doing to a little girl, her mother was the definition of a devil.
All the scars on her wrist were from her, believing she was actually pathetic when she was the exact opposite. She couldn't help but admit that the only good thing when the world ended was her mother was long gone, dead.
|flashback|
Numb
Rage
It was all I felt at that very moment.
I didn't know what I was thinking or doing, just the sounds of the desperate pleas of my mother screaming at me."[Y/N]! Help me don't leave your mother here like this,"
My mother screeched in pain as she was being bitten on her shoulder.
"Don't you dare leave me here like this save me!"
"I'm sorry your debt has been payed now, mother." I spat out, as I watched the corpses take a bite on her neck, I wasn't even sorry at all back then.
I left her behind being eaten alive by the monsters and I didn't seem to regret what I did. She threw me a mouthful of curses to me but I could of cared less. I packed all of my stuff to face the dead alone and headed off towards where ever the hell my feet carried me to.
As I ran through the empty dark streets not a single thought of regret flashed through my mind, all I felt was rage and numbness course through my veins.
|end of flashback|
All [y/n] wanted was revenge for what her mother did to her the past years of her existence, how pathetic and weak she felt, she wished it could of been settled a different way if only she let her mind speak first before her actions would.
She regretted everything she did back there.Alas the past is the past and she couldn't do anything about it, all [y/n] was doing was sulking and beating her self up to it. All she had to do was look forward and worry about the problems she would encounter in the future.
Her thoughts wandered to her father. Oh how she missed her father, 'I wonder if he's s-' her thoughts were interrupted by shuffling from behind her. She quickly grasped her bow and arrow that was flung around her back and turned around about to let go of the string, when she came face to face with what she thought to be a walker instead to be a man with dark curly brown hair with a hint of grey strands and tired blue eyes. He was dressed in a hospital gown but what catched her attention was the bloody patch on his chest. She couldn't move, as if everything was frozen in place.
'There's a living person in-front of me with a beating heart like mines with facial features that aren't rot-' her thoughts were interrupted, again, when the man whispered "L-lo-r-ri?" and collapsed cold on the wet pavement.
"Oh my god."
