Alvin sat oh my bed next to me and Theodore stared at the pool of blood on the floor. He was in disbelief that I had returned after losing so much blood. Alvin rested his head on my shoulder and questioned, "How are you still here after losing all that blood? I'm no expert, but shouldn't you be gone after that?"
I took a deep breath and began to explain what happened to me. "I went into the bathroom and cut my wrist. I don't know if what I seen was real or not, but all of my memories flashed in front of me like a movie. A strange, yet comforting white light engulfed me. I was in a big room with almost unmeasurable dimensions. A man wearing a white robe told me that it wasn't my time and they have big plans for me. Then he touched my forehead and I came back. I looked at the wrist I cut and all that's there is a small scar."
I pointed to it and let them feel it. The felling of his finger pressed against the healed flesh made him cringe. I've always considered myself to be a man of science, but this changed my entire view of the world around me.
I didn't have much time to ponder the new view I had of reality when a police officer barged into the room. He looked down at the ground and seen the puddle of blood. A look of terror spread quickly as the color in his face drained to ghost whit pale.
"Where the hell did that blood come from?" He asked worriedly.
"I don't know" We all replied in unison.
The officer rubbed the bridge of his nose and changed the subject quickly, "You boys got lucky. Your aunt Annie is willing to take you in. If it wasn't for her you'd be going to a group home."
Behind him walked in our aunt that we almost never see. Her curly red hair fell to her shoulders. Her light green eyes made contact with my light grey ones and it made me feel slightly uneasy, but I didn't think anything could be as bad as what her brother, our 'father' had done to Alvin and myself.
I let the matter go the best I could and hugged our aunt. Alvin and Theodore did likewise. She embraced us tightly and was given a legal form by the officer to make herself our legal guardian. I gave Alvin a pleading look and he smiled lovingly. It was enough to put my frayed nerves at ease for the moment.
She left us at her house while she went to retrieve our personal objects from our old dwelling. All that I wanted was Alvin and Theodore to be safe with me. The material objects could be replaced, but the memories I've shared with my brothers and the bond we've established can't be broken that easily, if at all. Even though we're not technically biological brothers, we've always treated one another as such.
Alvin, Theodore and I waited patiently in the living room. Alvin sat in my lap as we watched a boring documentary about the history of food. Theodore fell asleep during the film. I looked into Alvin's eyes and smiled warmly at him. Slowly we inched our lips closer and closer to one another's. It was less than a second later and our lips were intertwined in a perfect fit as if they were made to fit together.
I wrapped my arms around his waist and pulled him closer to me until it felt like we would forcefully be joined at the hips. I caressed his perfectly shaped hips as our kiss intensified. Alvin broke the kiss and pleaded, "Please Simon, I want it so badly right now. I really want it. I don't think it can wait."
The tone in his voice was soft and seductive. I almost took him up on the offer, but our aunt could walk through the door at any moment. I couldn't leave him high and dry. I stuck my hand in his pants and stroked him three times before I pulled my hand out and continued to watch the movie.
Alvin was a little annoyed, but before he could protest the door swung open. Alvin and I jumped off the couch and helped her carry the boxes to the spare room where we would be residing. It took a little while for us to get settled in for the night. There was only two small beds in the room. The walls were painted white with dark green lines running up and down the walls. There was a small window that gave a good view of the back yard. The grass in the back yard was long dead as was a small tree that probably never seen a drop of water. The branches of the tree hung low to the ground. Almost all of the bark had long fallen off and turned into dust. I hoped my brothers and I wouldn't be as neglected while in her care as the lawn was.
