"Dinner is here!"

I rush downstairs, knowing that my mom had gotten Subways, and Cole would take my sandwich if I wasn't there. Not going to lie, I was a bit tired of eating so much fast food, but food is food, and Mom had said she would be going grocery shopping in the morning.

"How's your room doing?" My mother asks as I grab a sandwich and begin to eat.

"It's alright. I've gotten at least half of my stuff out already, and all my clothes are in my drawer and closet. Much better now that the weird doll is out of there." I say, shivering when I remember the doll from last night.

"Yeah, I've decided to put it in my room." Cole enters the conversation as he walks into the room, grabbing a sandwich and instantly shoving it into his mouth.

"Why?" I ask, and he comes close to my ear before whispering.

"So it can keep me company at night when I'm all alone and cold."

"That's disgusting. I think I've lost my appetite." I say, and Cole's eyes widen.

"More for me." He reaches for my food before I pull it back, closer to me.

"I'll be saving it for later, sorry."

My mother laughs and as she gets up to throw away her trash, Cole flicks me off with both his fingers before mouthing a not so sweet message.

"You two planning on meeting some new friends here?"

"Ma, I'm going back to school in a week, why would I need friends here?" My brother says, and I answer for her.

"Maybe so you can get rid of Luna?"

"I like the way you think. Come on sister, let's go find us some friends." He says, with a mischievous grin.

"Stay safe!" Mom tells us, and we say goodbye before walking out the door.

"Where to first?" I ask, and he shrugs.

"Dunno. We could always go to the beach, or maybe the movie theater?"

"Don't feel like swimming, and I'm pretty sure there aren't any good movies out right now."

"Well, how about the ice cream parlor those two guys were talking about yesterday?"

"I'm down." I say, in the mood for ice cream.

After asking a man for directions, we walk into the parlor, and I can't help but eye the numerous flavors of ice cream in front of me.

"Close your mouth, you're drooling." Cole says, and I roll my eyes at him.

We begin to walk to the empty counter, waiting for someone to appear, before a girl walks over, wearing a name tag that said "Eva".

"Hi, how may I help you guys?" She asks, and my brother, who was paying attention to his phone, looks up before his mouth opens to speak, but no words come out.

"One vanilla cone and one chocolate." I speak up, and she smiles.

"Sugar or waffle?"

"Sugar please." I reply, and she nods before walking to the other side and grabbing two cones.

"Close your mouth, you're drooling." I whisper to Cole, repeating his words.

"You two new around here?" The girl asks.

"Yeah, how'd you know?"

"Everyone knows everyone in this small town. Except Shawn. Everyone knows him." She says, handing us our ice cream as Cole pays her.

"What, did he save a cat from a tree? I'm Rose, by the way, and this is my brother, Cole." I tell her, and she smiles at us.

"Eva, and no, he's a bit more famous than that. Anyways, there's a party going on at my friends house, if you two want to come. Mostly college kids and some highschool I guess."

"What time?" My brother asks, finally speaking. His whole life revolved around parties.

"Seven is when a group of us meet up, just chilling. My shifts off in ten minutes, so I've got an hour to kill." She says, obviously hinting at something.

"Wait, what time is it?" I ask, remembering the note.

"5:50, why? Got some place to be?"

"Actually, yeah. Any clue where the Arcade is?"

Eva looks at me with curiosity before answering.

"Yeah, just walk a block to the boardwalk, and you'll definitely see it."

"Thanks a bunch." I tell her, before saying goodbye, leaving my brother confused, and taking my half eaten ice cream with me.

After speed walking a block I notice the board walk, and raise an eyebrow. How was I supposed to know which one of these places was the arcade right off the bat? There were a bunch of places here.

I begin to walk down the boardwalk, noticing that some floor boards were pretty loose, and if I hadn't been watching where I was going, I would have probably fallen.

Continuing to walk, I notice a guy standing, with his back faced to me, and realize that I should probably ask for directions, since I was pretty late to my meet up with whoever already.

"Excuse me?" I ask, and the man turns around, clearly bothered by my presence.

"What do you want?" He asks, and I gulp before replying.

"Um, well, I was just wondering where the arcade might be?" I ask, keeping distance between us.

"Last one on the walk." He says, giving me a strange look. I quickly thank him, and begin to walk, knowing that whoever was trying to meet up with me probably wasn't so happy at the moment, because I was going to end up much later than I had expected.

After about seven minutes, I'm at the end, and raise an eyebrow. The man had to be mistaken.

In front of me was not an arcade. Instead, it was a shut down part of the boardwalk, with a big "DO NOT ENTER" sign at the front, and the doors had a lock on them.

I sigh, thinking I should probably give up, before I step back and notice the large letters high up on the building. Despite the dust collecting on it, I could clearly tell that the word was arcade.

Jackpot.

I grasp the lock with my hand, and gasp at my discovery. The padlock, which I thought was stopping me from entering the abandoned place, was in fact very unlocked, which meant that all I needed to do was pull open the door.

As I enter the area, and raise an eyebrow at how dark it was at the back. Due to all the light coming from outside and through the windows, I could see perfectly clear where I was.

And it looked like I was alone. I sigh, knowing I probably missed who ever it was trying to reach me, and lick my melting ice cream before knowing it was time to go back, and possibly get ready for a party. That is, until I heard a creak from the back of the arcade, and a voice that causes me to spin around in shock.

"Boo."
